Mining: Cobalt likes to mine as it calms him down and helps him think. He also likes the working aspect of mining. It fits into his personal beliefs and helps him accomplish his goals.
Technology: Cobalt is often inspired by advancing technology and it drives him to work forward and gives him faith in ponykind. He is not a big technology whiz, but he is open to suggestion and change into his life.
Dust: Cobalt likes the dust for one main reason. That reason is that it keeps most other ponies away from him, and it helps him find other ponies who would appreciate him for who he is.
Dislikes:
Quitters: Cobalt hates ponies who give up in the middle of things. In his eyes, they defy his beliefs and everything that has made him the pony he is. He believes it is ponies like them that will eventually drive him crazy.
Rich Ponies: Cobalt despises rich ponies because he believes that too much power is held in their hands. He believes that maybe one day he could be persuaded otherwise, but his position, as of now, is firm.
Large Crowds: Cobalt's hate of large crowds is partly because of his cutie mark. He believes that many ponies wouldn't accept him if they saw his cutie mark and understood his talent. This is why he waits until the crowd dies down until receiving instructions. Cobalt is trying to get over this fear, but he fears it may never be changed.

History/Background: Cobalt's family is from Manehattan, where he first developed his hate for rich ponies and large crowds. He left to try to make it on his own, where he discovered his true talent. He was hired by a metalworker who needed help finding enough metal to help with the making of construction beams. He was mining when he discovered a deposit of blue gems, which was later identified as cobalt. His name was changed from Victory to Bristle after he decided to separate himself from Manehattan, which he would later return to to apologize to his parents.
