The Forge sat silent in the morning, all sounds of tools and work cutting off. It was almost as if the shop itself mourned at the dangerous journey its master had ahead of it.
Gearshift sighed, as he slowly packed items he might need for the mission. Food, water, various building materials, and medical supplies. Today was the beginning of the journey back to his home. It had been ten years ago he had self-exiled himself, but the fact that they needed him, outweighed his sorrow.
He had sent letters to some of the friends he had made on his travels, asking if they would be willing to help. They were instructed to meet at The Forge that morning if they wanted to join him. Hopefully someone answered. He was absolutely sure that he could not do this alone, as it was not a matter of strength but the fact that he was going to need the mental strength and emotional power to go back to the one place that brought up more bad memories than any other.
He had sent Mira back to the school in Canterlot, since he knew that she would refuse to let him do this alone. to prevent her from coming back to the forge prematurely, he had shut down the G.E.A.R...hopefully she would understand. As he waited, he reached into the deepest parts of his bag, bringing back to items. One was a old music box, which he carefully wound and set to play. The other, was a bright red scarf. He read the inscription on the end, 'So you can light the way, Snowstorm,' just reading it he felt tears fill his eyes. He wrapped it around his neck, and sat waiting for his friends to show up.
