It was a rare occurrence for this painfully shy Unicorn to leave her secret and secluded home in Everfree and venture into Ponyville. But even a recluse had to eat, right? Melody gulped, half-filled basket in-between her teeth and white head hanging low. She did not want to gather anypony's attention, for such a thing frightened her. Contrary to her incredible stage presence and when she went as her alias "Cobalt," the Mare could barely look into the eyes of another pony without wanting to flee and hide. This made the times when she had to buy food and supplies in the Ponyville market and stores even more difficult than they should have been.
Her light grey hooves plodded lightly on the ground, blue tail swishing behind her. The Unicorn was currently waiting in line at the vegetable stand. When the pony in front of her purchased his good, the female shyly went forward and set the basket down on the counter. The owner of the stand smiled at her, nodding her head.
"Hey there, Melody Blues," she exclaimed cheerily, already gathering supplies. "How are ya? The usual, I take it?"
The Mare nodded her head and glanced up nervously, forcing herself to give a small, polite smile. "G-Good. T-Thank you. And yours-self? Y-Yes, please."
While the owner finished gathering the goods and talked to Melody, the Unicorn bent her neck to the side, slid her nuzzle into one of her pouches, and gathered a few bits between her teeth, setting them on the counter. The other Mare placed her hooves on the money and pulled it backwards, Melody placing the veggies within her basket. She quietly thanked the owner again, gave her goodbyes, and gently trotted off. Her big blue eyes searched the market, looking for her next target: fish for her cat, Sonya.
The Unicorn was distracted by her own thoughts and was not paying close attention to what or who was in front of her...
