Night took a bite from her cupcake as she mused over her new friend's words. She could agree with her thoughts on musicals, for sure. And she supposed the play was meant to be fun, even if it was more nerve-wracking for some ponies. It was Pixel's comment on why they were doing all of this that really got her thinking, though.
Now, Night didn't usually talk much. Just a comment here or there, anything to get her away from ponies usually. The only ponies she had real conversations with were Sherbet, Dark and Star. Yet when she decided to talk to a new pony, to have an actual conversation with them, she tended to monologue about tiny things. The other pony would mention some random subject, and Night would just go off on a tangent that usually ended up with her talking about the meaning of life. Before the black unicorn could even feel sorry for Pixel, she began to speak.
"I'm the type of pony who thinks that everything happens for a reason." Night turned her attention back to the muffin, examining the creases and bite marks that ran along its surface. "It seems irrelevant, but I'm an astronomer. I study the constellations and celestial bodies and how they move each night. Most other ponies would leave it at that, but I tend to wonder why they move. I know it's because of Luna, of course, but I wonder why she makes them different each night. Because I think that everything happens for a reason, whether its the stars moving or a couple of ponies meeting at the auditions for a musical." The unicorn smiled a little before looking up at Pixel. Only then did she realise she'd been ranting, and once again was grateful that her coat was dark enough to hide her blush.
"Oh, whoops, sorry." Night laughed nervously, twisting her bracelet about her hoof once again. "I kinda went off on a tangent there, didn't I?" She took another bite of her muffin and looked away to hide her embarrassment.
