-Personality Stuff-
Likes:
Writing, Playwriting, acting, Collecting Scarves, Knitting, Reading, Planning Shows, Sweets, Tea, and Small animals. He also has a cactus given to him by an old friend who lives in Manehattan that he cares for and often talks to when he writes.
Dislikes:Blind Criticism(he finds people who judge his work without thinking about his meaning to be tasteless and irrationally judgmental), Sports (he has never been good at them), Loud, populous Parties (he tends to be more standoffish and is an introvert. He's okay with parties with 6 or less other people, though), Spiders (he used to live with someone who kept free-range spiders and woke up with them in his bed night after night), His own work (see below)
Motivation:
Writing a good story and sharing it with the public. He also is motivated by his playwriting work, as being on stage is the best he can do if he chooses to be in public.
Strengths:
Considered a very good writer, is pretty amiable in 1-on-1 conversations, is honest and will be a fair critic towards others, finds a good story in just about anything he sees.
Weaknesses/Flaws:
Silver tends to have a mean streak towards himself, meaning that when he is writing he will often become his own worst critic. He can get irrational at the thought of his work not being perfect, and can get very upset if something doesn't go according to plan. Not helping that is the fact that he has trouble making friends, not on account of any ill temper towards others, but rather a difficulty feeling that others will understand his work. The definition of a Drama Queen, he will make mountains out of molehills over teeny mistakes.
Fears:
For physical fears, he tends to view spiders as a rather threatening pest in his home. Additionally, though, his more psychological fears include a worry that he won't be able to keep living up to his name as the "Poet of Canterlot", since he's beginning to repeat his old plots and characters. Not helping is that the ponies that his old acting troupe friends have moved apart, meaning he has to start from scratch in the realm of theatre.
Overall Persona:
Quiet and quirky, Silver tends to remain indoors to do his work, with the exception of his theatre work. He’s always been a kind person, but he doesn’t do too well in crowds or groups. He preferring 1-on-1 interactions but will try to engage with anypony that he can. He gets a little embarrassed about the fact that he grooms himself a little too well, so well that he’s mistaken for a mare, but to be honest, his optimistic streak reminds him that his acting and grooming work must be that good to do well in theatre. He can get a little vain, often finding himself in a trances when he stares in the mirror for too long, but even so, he tries his best for anyone who he considers a friend.
Though Silver’s mainstay is in Canterlot, likely because of possible relatives living there, there are many places that he has taken his troupe before they disbanded. He has earned the name “The Poet of Canterlot” as a result of his prodigious talent at writing, but as he has settled down in Canterlot, he has had many a thought that he will be only so good until the next big writer steps up and takes his place. This makes him very selective with his work. He wonders if he would change up his style, or even if maybe he needs to abandon his old gig and think of something new. Perhaps a change of scenery wil do the trick?
History/Background: He started living in Canterlot, acting as a ward for his relative, Twinkleshine.
He earned his cutie mark as a result of a talent show when he was young after writing a poem about ink. Since he was rather young when he got his cute mark, many people expected him to be some sort of writing whiz. Unfortunately, he knew more than anyone that he had a long way to go.
The next years of his life would be full of mystery and wonder, as he went through the education system and finished school. As he graduated, he decided to leave Ponyville and move to Canterlot, where he began his work creating a travelling troupe.
Eventually, after a harsh breakup of his troupe after years of shows, he decided to settle down in Canterlot and take care of his relative, Twinkleshine. Now he writes novels and the occasional playbook, but he's still looking for something a bit more.
