Pearl peered out from behind her gigantic designer sunglasses at the small shops of Ponyville. What other ponies saw as a lovely, growing town with lots of charm, Pearl saw as dusty and drab. She poshly stepped each polished hoof in front of the other as if trying desperately not to get any dirt on them. With a toss of her delicate head, her sparkling, professionally styled mane flowed beautifully in the breeze. Despite how rustic and pitiful Ponyville was, the amount of ponies who seemed to recognize her was significantly less than in Canterlot. That, in the very least, was something she appreciated.. not as if she didn't crave the attention of the masses.
The pegasus stretched her large wings, displaying the glittery blue frock that she adorned. It was of course one of the latest designs, but it wasn't the most phenomenal. You know, she didn't want to make the citizens of Ponyville feel too bad. A small smile pulled up the corners of her muzzle as she folded them comfortably at her sides once more. After this morning's photo shoot, her schedule was clear. She pondered going back to Canterlot, but instead thought it would be interesting to see the sights. Only now, Pearl was more bored than captivated by anything. She sighed and moved from shop window to shop window, seeing nothing in particular that caught her eye.
The sunlight was warm on her light pink pelt and its bright rays reflected in the windows, illuminating the shops' wares. Despite whatever Pearl's opinion was on the items, they were diligently created. There were lovely dresses and bows in one display, and fancy quills in another shop window along with.. mattresses? Pearl raised a brow. These shops were certainly eccentric, she would give them that.
The mare turned, and was shocked upon looking towards the open square. Ponies were running frantically in all directions, screaming as large stallions in black full-body suits threw large rocks through once unblemished windows, whilst in other stores, stallions were exiting the already broken-into shops with large loads of merchandise. Pearl quickly turned back around and her ears met the sweet sound of silence as she did so. Her thick lashes brushed her cheek as she closed her eyes for a moment. Opening them again, she shyly peeked one dark blue eye over her shoulder. Her muscles relaxed as soon as she saw that the vision had passed. Normal ponies going about their everyday lives, trotting from one point to another, catching up with friends, and simply enjoying the nice weather. Her focus remained on the town square as she began to walk again, paying no mind to where she was going.
