The weekend many a pony has awaited. CanterCon is finally in full swing! The line stretches down the street, hustling and bustling ponies often having to make detours to get to other locations around the streets of Canterlot. The group lined up is certainly no normal line of mares and stallions, along with fillies and colts, as many are donned in crazy costumes, lugging bags from which they pull cameras, sunglasses, photos to be signed, and much more, along with extra space for souvenirs—who wouldn't get at least a little something from the convention?
Inside the convention hall, an entire room is held aside for the visiting stars of film, play, and story, locked until the time comes for ponies to fill the area, while a long stretch of space is lined with booths for comics, books, sneak peeks into theater, film posters, fanmade paraphernalia, and much, much more! Spend a little time checking out the booths, there's something for every fan here. Bits will be spent, so choose wisely!
And finally, a red-carpeted room is set aside for the cosplay contest, being held the last day of the convention. Papers will be turned in on the allotted days, be sure not to be late, or else you'll be out of luck! Groups have been planning for months, single ponies perhaps even longer sometimes, and it's all come down to this day—no pony will be able to withhold their surprise, that's for sure!
So welcome to CanterCon, enjoy the week!
Rainbow Dash could barely hold in her excitement, CanterCon was finally here! After years of dressing as Daring Do and winning her division of the cosplay contest twice in a row, she decided to try something new. Adjusting her shiny gold lightning bolt necklace, she silently thanked herself for finding such cheap and awesome costume details. She smoothed a hoof over her near-stiff mane, making sure not a hair was out of place in the up do—Zap's mane was hard to do, it had to be perfect! She peeked in the window as she trotted in place, waiting for the doors to open, slowly muttering "c'mon, c'mon," as the minutes passed her slowly by—did it always take this long? It seemed longer than usual. She flapped up a few feet, peering ahead of the line, only to be scolded by the stallion behind her, "hooves on the ground, miss! I ain't lettin' some pegasus cut ahead in line," to which she sighed with a slight eye roll, landing on the ground with a slight flop of her hooves.
Could Celestia speed up the sun just a little? Make things go by a bit quicker? Please? Dash sure hoped so.
"So I've been waiting for like, four hours," CC finished, still blabbing to the teen behind her, ending with a big grin. "Your Mane-iac cosplay is sweet, by the way," she added, pointing a gloved hoof at the taller mare, who returned the grin whole-heartedly.
She whipped her head around at the creaking of large doors, "IT'S STARTING!" she exclaimed, shaking the other mare at the shoulders, before promptly letting go, "Alright. Open up. Alright. Open up," she repeated quickly, bubbling from side to side as her wings fluttered a little in excitement. The line inched slowly forward, CC following eagerly at the slow pace.
Bubbly Beaker was already in the hall, sitting at her own little booth, giddy as she could be about her tiny potion stand that had made it into CanterCon. Hay, she'd worked for months on her themed potions, each referring to a different comic, film, etcetera. She positioned them again, adjusting her altered goggles (she could still see clearly with them, she'd had help from a friend), and grinning wide as she could. CanterCon, comin' at'cha!
