Fizzy Phoenix Comics was quiet this evening, save for the occasional gentle rustle of pages and Aperture Lily's voice reading aloud. It was a slow day, all the regulars had come and gone by this point in the week and barely any customers have come in since her shift started this afternoon. She pulled at her face with her hoofs in exasperation, "I've read everything that's come out in the past week, no one's been in for hours, will this evening ever end!?"
App pressed her muzzle against the window and looked outside. The fog on the glass rose and fell with each breath. Once in a while a pony walked past under the streetlamps, occasionally they gave her a puzzled look for staring at them. The fog froze over the window, forcing her to look away. Her ears perked as her mind registered the time that slipped away. "It's past 7 o'clock? It's past 7 o'clock! I can leave!", she shouted. She could barely contain her excitement, her hooves danced in place as she used her magic to levitate her saddlebag and cloak on. She hurried over to the door and looked back with a stern, serious look on her face. Her eyes squinted at various parts of the store, "No ponies left, lights are off, windows are closed". She stepped outside into the cool night air and breathed in deeply as she locked the door behind her. App seemed to be staring through the door now, going over the list in her head once more before allowing the excitement of her freedom to take over once more. When she was sure, she grinned wide and sped away.
The cold air nipped at her face and the snow crunched under-hoof, but it was a wonderful evening all the same. She hadn't been in Ponyville for very long, but she was starting to find the lack of ponies this evening a bit strange. Her excitement faded a little, as did her speed while she looked around. "It's not that late, where is everypony?", she asked quietly to herself. She began walking a little more carefully, eyeing her surroundings, and listening intently to the sounds around her. App had not been in Ponyville for very long, maybe a few months at most. She had no idea Winter Wrap Up was scheduled for tomorrow, and she most certainly didn't know what happened today. Many ponies in Ponyville celebrated Final Frost Day, and on it, they would make the most of their time with the snow before it's cleared out the next day.
