The tentative moments of silence built tension and suspense in Aero like nothing ever had before. He'd been on battle lines, waiting for a charge and order to attack and not been as apprehensive as he was now. Time seemed to stand still as the sound all around his faded and he could hear his own heartbeat race. He held his breath as she mentioned that he'd heard what his said and Aero to this day says that those few moments where she said nothing were the most difficult in his entire life.
The moment she uttered those five words to him, the world starting moving again. The background noise of the pub rushed back as he took a breath and composed himself. It was all a little too much to take in frankly, what she'd said, the way she'd said it. Everything was all a little too much, it wasn't a moment for pointing out how she'd said it in a goofy way and calling her cute, it was a quiet moment just just had to enjoy.
Feeling her snuggling into his side, Aero didn't have any big idiotic grin on his face. He just had a little smile, what could be considered little more than a corner of his mouth turned up ever so slightly. Holding her closer than he ever had before, Aero just looked forward for a moment before sighing softly and resting his head against hers. The tuft of fluff on her ear tickled his neck as he felt the hair of her mane press to his cheek, enjoying the warmth of her body. He felt the stretchy membrane of her wing press into his side as well. While he had fluffy feathers to wrap her with, her bat wings were brilliantly soft and warm in their own right.
"A note to all guards, our meeting downstairs will resume in about five minutes."
The voice could be heard in all corners of the bar, Aero letting out a little huff, at this point that all seemed so trivial and he wasn't sure he even wanted to go back. Giving her a little nudge as he lifted his head from resting on hers, he looked down at her, their faces quite close as their comfort levels with each other had never been higher.
"What do you wanna do?" He asked simply.
