Aero watched as Nightfall jotted his name down, trying to get a sneak peak at the bracket but really from the angle he was at, he couldn't see much. Not that he'd know the name if he could see it. He was a little iffy on the idea that all the guards knew he was dating Nightfall, when he'd mentioned stories he just figured that it was stories of his prior exploits, not that they were dating. That made the staring all the more annoying frankly, he didn't want them knowing and was actually kind of let down that Nightfall would mention anything without telling him before hoof. Not that she had to mind, but he would have preferred if she'd thought to have the courtesy.
What's done was done, Aero wasn't the kind of boyfriend to sulk and be passive aggressive about the decision she made, but he at least respected her enough to make not that he'd mention it later, bottling stuff like that up would just break them up eventually. It seemed dramatic thinking like that, but in their line of work they knew how powerful information could be. However before he could continue down this line of thinking, Aero heard something rather silly.
"Wait wait what?" He chuckled. "I can't let you do that Nightfall."
Now in Equestria the rules of courtship were a little different. There wasn't this assumption that the male do anything or the female do anything special, since both genders were equal in society and equally capable. Aero's objection wasn't based on some macho need to prove himself, but in something else.
"You've done so much for me, it wouldn't be fair for you to pay for me. Yeah I paid last time but you got me a job, you.." Aero went quiet for a moment. He was about to admit something to Nightfall he wasn't sure if he should just yet, it would probably creep her out. Well it was a little late for that, she'd only insist on him finishing the thought now. "When I was brought to this time, I didn't think I'd ever find what I lost. Then I found you, I can never do enough to make up for that Nightfall."
Aero blushed softly, thinking that now all these guards knew their secret he didn't need to sit across from his love any more. Sliding over, he sat by her side with his usual charming smile. Talking more softly as the situation felt the need for it.
"I know you'll disagree with me, I can already see it in your eyes. Just, let me get this one okay?" Aero spoke genuinely, she would see it in his eyes as he looked into her own. Sitting back into the seat, he looked at the menu, saying one last thing without even looking at her. "If you say a word about how corny that was I'm gonna drop you." Aero smirked.
