As the train approached Ponyville, Dark Star slowly began to stir. She had been asleep all the while from her return from Canterlot and wanted to get back to her house soon, but she was surprised by how unusually soft something felt against the back of her head. She turned her head around and found Silver Glow looking back at her. She was startled lightly and the sight of him; she had completely forgotten ever meeting him in Canterlot, and what's more, she was surprised that she had fallen asleep against his side. She felt a slight flush in her face as she stretched her legs out and stood up. "W-well, that was certainly an excellent nap, wasn't it?" she asked, trying to look him in the eyes.
The PA came on and told all the passengers to depart immediately while they prepared for their next departure, giving Dark Star and Silver all the time they needed to do just that. She levitated her saddlebags down to her back and started walking towards the door. 'Okay, so hopefully, we won't have to deal with her as we exit the train. But even then, what are we supposed to do afterwards?' she thought to herself as the two departed. She knew right away of the dangers that were presented at just about every corner. First, there was Slipstream; an incredibly teasing little sister in her life that she knew she would have to bend over backwards just to keep her from telling any pony about it. Then there any of the other ponies who knew of her relationship with Crimson Tale; she would have her work cut out for her in that case.
That when it suddenly hit her; what if the first pony she saw as she walked out was Crimson Tale. She had no idea how it is that she'd explain any of this to him. It would just become so troublesome so fast and she became so worried about she walked directly into the door. She shook off the pain and walked through the doorway leading out to the platform. As she walked, she looked around carefully. Her eyes darted back and forth as she was scouting out the area. Silver asked her if she was looking for something, which she solemnly responded "Not something, someone". She took a few steps forward, looked out towards the horizon and saw nothing that seemed out of the ordinary. 'I doubt she'd still be waiting for my to return after this long had already passed. I bet she's sitting at home right now completely indulging in something else' she thought as she turned back to Silver. "Well, everything is alright now so-" she started saying before hearing her name get called out from behind her.
"Oh no..." she said as she slowly turned around to meet the source of it; a cyan-blue pegasus with green eyes and a mint-green mane, worn in three different tails-two over her shoulders and one held back behind her-shooting her a smug, toothy grin. Slipstream took a few steps closer and wrapped an arm around the dark unicorn's shoulders. "Ya kept me waitin for ya all day, what took ya so..." she trailed off as she started looking Silver. Her grin became wider as she gave the older mare an even more smug grin. "Oooohh, who's your friend here?" the cyan pony asked. Dark Star was officially panicking now; the worst possible pony they could've met upon their return and it had to be Slipstream. Her eyes lit up and she started to shake, nervously mulling over how she could possibly bribe Slipstream to keep this whole meeting a secret. She looked over at Silver and smiled coyly, her eyes still glowing. "S-Silver, this is Slipstream. Slipstream, this is Silver Glow-a friend I made in Canterlot today" she explained nervously.
"Silver Glow, huh? sounds like a nice guy" Slipstream said as she trotted over to the aforementioned stallion. She looked him straight in the eye and asked "So, I take it ya must really like my girl to follow her all the way back home, huh?". Dark Star's face was now glowing a mild red tint. She knew right away that there was nothing she could do to dig her way out of this problematic situation she had gotten herself into, not after Slipstream goes and says something like that. She desperately hoped that Silver would be able to understand things without much more need to explain, but worried if he started to ask questions.
