Dr. Cutter along with his faithful pet blue cobalt tarantula, Chauncy found themselves in the middle of the Ponyville library. Cutter, the unreformed changeling and Chrysalis sympathizer was wearing his usual disguise, a meek, mild mannered, only all too eager to please and lover of cheese pegasus pony named Reuben. His coat was yellow while his mane and tail were orange with white streaks and around his neck he wore a dark blue scarf with Chauncy riding happily on his head. It was pretty early in the morning too, around eight in the morning in fact. Even so the sun was starting to come out, fluffy white clouds made themselves known and there was a pleasant enough breeze going around. The birds were singing their morning song while the little squirrels chased each other up and down the trees. Cutter noticed these things coming in, but didn't care too much. His mad scientist brain simply would not let him.
But, he was there in the Ponyville Library all the same. He found himself in the cookbook section of the library. He was hoping to find some good sandwich and soup recipes that he can try out at his day job; which was simply sandwich maker at the local sandwich shop. It was owned by nice enough ponies, Cutter thought. A bit too nice, in fact or at least they were in Cutter's mind anyway.
Finding just the sandwich book he was looking for, Cutter grabbed it off the shelf with his wing and flew with it over to a table in a quiet corner where he set the book down and plopped down in a chair. Feeling only all too eager, Cutter began to read it with wide eyes. Chauncy too appeared to be reading from atop her owner's head. It was Cutter's hope that by doing some...research he could possibly get ahead of the game, the sandwich making game that is and who knows maybe if he did a good enough job his employers would give him a promotion or even better he could start his own sandwich shop! The very idea of owning his own sandwich shop really did excite him! He did not think his employers really needed him. They could always hire other ponies when he does decide to go into business for himself; which hopefully would be soon. He just needed to save up enough bits to make that happen and sadly before he came here and pretended to be a pony he didn't have much in the way of bits. Needless to say, he had some serious saving to do.
"Just think Chauncy, our very own sandwich shop! Doesn't it sound...delicious?" asked Cutter drooling a bit onto the recipe book. "And just think with my own business I will be able to do all sorts of things! Nice, huh?" Chauncy just yawned in response. "Don't worry Chauncy, I haven't become boring just yet. I still have...big plans for this one horse town," he happily announced laughing. Upon noticing ponies were not looking over in his direction he stopped and cleared his throat. "Uh...allergies. Yeah, I have some really bad allergies, so stand back before I sneeze all over you," he warned making fake coughing noises. At that the ponies just went back to their business leaving Cutter to smile proudly. "What can I say? I'm really good at scaring away nosy ponies," Cutter informed his pet looking mighty pleased with himself. The spider, however, did not look too impressed and just sort of rolled her eyes at him. "Oh, like you could do a better job at scaring ponies away," Cutter sneered.
Seeing that as a challenge, Chauncy began to crawl off the table only for Cutter to quickly grab her. "No, you made your point, Chauncy. I don't really need to see you actually do anything. Last thing I want is for you getting trampled by a bunch of crazy, arachnophobic ponies," Cutter informed his beloved pet, clearly concerned for her safety. He set her back gently onto the table next to his book. With his pet safe, Cutter resumed reading through the recipes. "Yep, definitely checking this book out Chauncy," he informed the spider.
