Edit: I just realized I totally forgot part of Diamond Dust's character. This is going to be a Work-in-progress character until I can figure out where I put Diamond Dust's character sheet on my computer and copy & paste the relevant section into the character sheet.
Name: Diamond Dust
Race: Crystal Earth Pony
Gender: Male
Age: Adult Stallion
-Physical Stuff-
Pelt Color: Diamond’s coat is resembles that of a diamond, (He’s a crystal pony, so this is normal for his kind) but this tends not to be seen as much as is often wears clothes over it.
Mane/Tail Color and Style: Egg-shell white in a military haircut.
Eye Color: Blue
Cutie Mark: A cracked diamond in a mirror referencing his ability to see things, as they are not how they appear.
Other Scars/Markings: None
Clothing: Varies, depending on situation. (He tends to blend in with crowds by wearing different outfits depending on his surroundings)
Physique: Well built, but not excessively so.
Possessions: Sleep powder, Smoke bombs, magical surveillance equipment (listening devices, etc)
-Social Stuff-
Current Residence: Crystal Empire- Military barracks (while on active duty), home in Crystal Empire (While off duty).
Job: Infantry pony in the Crystal Empire royal guard, director of CECID (Crystal Empire Counter-Intelligence Division)
Mother: ?
Father: ?
Sibling(s): Pearl Polish (younger brother)
Closest Friends: None except for his brother with whom he is very close.
Mate: None
Foal(s): He has no foals at this time.
-Personality Stuff-
Likes: Gambling, Music, Cider,
Dislikes:. Ego-driven ponies (He values selfless behavior above all)
Motivation:
Duty, family, excitement
Strengths: Highly intelligent and resourceful, outwardly charming to most everypony he meets. His cutie mark makes it difficult to lie to him without being found out. While he is not a walking lie detector, he gets an itch, not unlike Pinkie Pie’s ‘twitchy tail’ Pinkie sense. The itch is more pronounced the more overt the lie is.
Weaknesses/Flaws: He’s a habitual liar and a little overly sure of himself at times.
Fears: Being called out on his lying, being called a fraud, crippling fear of heights. (He was been afraid of heights since he was a foal.)
Overall Persona: Diamond Dust is something of a social chameleon. He effortlessly fits in with almost any group, though mostly this is because of his ability to successfully lie his way through most conversation, giving him the appearance of confidence or knowing what he’s talking about when he really doesn’t. This can be a double- edged sword, however. Sometimes pretending to know more than he really does have gotten him into trouble by having ponies rely on talents Diamond Dust doesn’t actually have or exploring a topic of conversation that Diamond Dust isn’t very knowledgeable in. On the surface, Diamond Dust is confident, suave, intelligent and resourceful. This is more a ruse than Diamond wishes to admit, however. While he is both intelligent and resourceful, most of Diamond’s personality is a lie. His consistent lying is indicative of his lack of confidence in who he really is- a humble and dutiful servant of the crystal empire and a loyal brother in arms to other soldier in his legion. Diamond’s chummy exterior around fellow soldiers hides his determined spymaster interior where he works in secret for Silver Saber as a gatherer of information and subtle remover of enemy threats throughout the empire. Most of all, Diamond longs to be himself and never have to lie again- a dream he may never realize. Lies have become a second nature to him, to the point that he sometimes lies without know he is doing it. He keeps his proverbial cards so close to chest that nobody has seen the real Diamond Dust, not even his own brother. Despite this, Diamond dust always appears cheerful and almost unflappable in the face of extraordinary odds. Diamond Dust is also a bit of a womanizer. That isn’t to say he toys with the affections on mares, only that he enjoys their company and is very good at acquiring it. Most of his relationships with mares tend to end poorly as his priorities are on his job, not his marefriends. It is important to know that he does this out of necessity not malice. He emotionally needs to connect with somepony on occasion and his womanizing is how he copes with his disjointed connection with other ponies.
History or Background: Diamond Dust doesn't talk much about his past and neither does his brother. Very little is known about Diamond Dust and Pearl Polish's backstory at the moment.
Note: This may change in the future. I have some ideas but writer's block has consistently prevented me from forming them into anything coherent.
