-General Stuff-
Name: Knick Knack
Nickname/Alias(es): Knick, Nicky (occasionally. These are suggested or potential nicknames, not ones she chooses to go by herself)
Race: Unicorn
Gender: Female
Age: Youngish Mare
Additional Status: Nothing to report... Although I should mention that this is my character first used on another site that I am updating/transferring – if she looks a little familiar to some of you perhaps
-Physical Stuff-
Pelt Color: Soft Brown
Mane/Tail Color and Style: Her mane is a a bouncy, short ponytail in two shades of purple and held back by a worn old green headband of tied fabric, and her tail is the same, though quite small and only one purple (without a tie).
Eye Color: Pale Blue
Cutie Mark: A crystalised spinning top!
Other Scars/Markings: N/A
Physique: Strong and a little more heavy-duty than most unicorns (though naturally still a bit finer than a stocky earth pony), from pulling around her waggon – see the next point.
-Social Stuff-
Current Residence: The self-drawn waggon she now lives in was a lucky find- she ran across it and spent a summer fixing it up until it now gleams. She parks it wherever the wind takes her and opens up the doors to whatever a passing pony might like to collect for themselves. (This is to say that at one point she might be anywhere in Equestria that can be reached by one pony on foot). It's full to the brim, and crowded–one room basically, with a curtain near the back that hides her workbench and a small, thin mattress on the floor against one wall that she calls a bed.
Job: A collector and travelling salespony of novelties, curiosities, and magical items that she finds and restores. Can also potentially repair magical items from the home of the average pony that are broken or misbehaving.
Mother and Father: Respectable unicorns from the suburbs of Trottingham. Kind folks.
Sibling(s): Unsure
Other Family: Unsure
Closest Friends: N/A
Courting/Courted By: N/A
Mate: N/A
Foal(s): N/A
-Personality Stuff-
Likes: Collecting, obscure/old magicks, figuring stuff out, new things, old things, her waggon (home sweet home), helping someone find something new to take home with them, re-vamping/fixing things, meeting new ponies, stubborn problems to solve.
Dislikes: Rude customers who disturb the organised chaos of her waggon (shop as well as house) and thieves, having to throw something away or resign herself to not being able to fix something, arbitrary rules, leaving the friends she makes sometimes.
Motivation: To see the world, to help ponies, to learn as much as she can.
Strengths: Her openness, friendliness to new people, fearless curiosity, natural intuitiveness for problem-solving, a great understanding of magic from all her travelling and tinkering.
Weaknesses/Flaws: The shyness behind her projected salespony persona, easily distracted, can fixate over problems, prefers to pack up and leave rather than dealing with situations involving ponies (though she will doggedly fixate over problems with her magical artefacts), can be too curious for her own good and wind up in dangerous situations, doesn't really know when to quit, can be over-confident in some situations.
Fears: Becoming too attached to ponies and having to leave them, losing her touch with magical items, ending up in some desk job, being unable to fix something important, never truly unlocking the potential of her magic
Overall Persona: Knick Knack is quite carefree when it comes to herself, but deadly serious and focused when it comes to her work. She's quite happy to spend months on a particularly difficult item to figure out exactly what's gone wrong, but in general has an easy-going manner that can seem almost slap-dash to ponies of the more upper-crust. She loves meeting new ponies and finding new things and is always good for a laugh. Past the surface layer of a salespony, though, Nicky can get a little shy- people don't get into deep conversations with her much. She's very easily distracted by pretty or just plain interesting things. She loves problems and difficulties, so long as they don't involve a pony's feelings... those can get a little complicated. Overall, she's very friendly though, and will never hesitate to help out a pony when she discovers they are in need, and tends to try to see the best in ponies (and the potential in her projects) but this can lead to slight over-confidence or losing sight of if the battle to fix something is truly worth it. Her cabin is as cluttered as her brain–she can jump from topic to topic quite easily and not realise why ponies are confused that she’s just changed the subject after a long pause and is now waiting for them to catch up while thinking about something totally different. She is clever, to be sure, but not in an obvious way–she’s just very excitable about magic, especially old or obscure spells–if you can pique her interest in the first place, that is.
History/Background: In Equestria, there is a lot of magic, and a lot of ponies experimenting with a lot of magic stuff. Sometimes, it gets left behind, and that's where Knick Knack comes in. Nicky to those she runs into twice or more ("friends" she would call them) she has a passion for finding some of the discarded, 'broken' bits that other ponies would abandon, and trying to fix them up and sell them.
She's always been interested in collecting since she was a filly- little trinkets and funny spells soon cluttered her bedroom. She got her cutie mark one day after finding a spinning top in the bottom of her local playground- none of her other friends could get it to work properly, as it stubbornly refused to give more than a few half-hearted turns, but after listening to it and tapping it around a bit Knick Knack was able to give it the right spark and it lit up and began to twirl.
The self-drawn waggon she now lives in was a lucky find- after finishing school and deciding a serious magic school was not for her (with the blessing of her parents), she ran across it and spent a summer fixing it up until it now gleams. She's since been travelling Equestria, collecting odd bits and pieces and learning spells from whoever she can convince to teach her. She parks it wherever the wind takes her and opening up the doors to whatever a passing pony might like to collect for themselves. At this point, it's mostly novelties, or curiosities- a pipe that will make your dandelions swish to the music, a cloak that renders you invisible only some of the time, and some she keeps for herself- like the saddlebags that hold far more than you could logically expect it to, which is useful for those things she would rather not leave in the waggon unattended. Watch out, though- some of the stuff in there's a little dangerous. The last time somepony bought a watch, well... she didn't know it was only going to start wailing at them, now did she?
