Eternity started to frown at the sorrow coming from the pony next to her. She sighed, then sat back down to look at Knight in the eyes. She tried to hide her own sadness behind her head, but they appeared in her eyes, like she actually cared about somepony else. This wasn't the first time though, but it wasn't the one hundredth time. It was maybe the third forth time. Last time it happened with the last loving relationship, but of course that didn't end well. The others were also when she was in a relationship, which she come to realize she has had a lot of those now. "Awe, don't be like that," she started, trying to put in her sarcastic voice to make a laugh or two. "What if your that hero that saves her? What if you become that princess that'll do anything for her 'Damsel in Distress'," she joked at the last one. "What if you become a guard and you get to meet her for the first time, heart racing like it's on a track team. Your mind won't be working correctly, and you'll be sweating like a pig, but you end up saying the most perfect things. And you're beautiful eyes will be shining in the castle light, then the Princess of the Night will soon see how amazing you are," she said with a sweet smile. She put her grey hoof on Knight's shoulder. "Everything will work out perfectly," she added, giving a little shake to the upset mare. "If your dream is unreachable, then you're not dreaming high enough," she muttered another quote, locking her eyes once again with the mare in front of her. Eternity removed her hoof then placed it back in front of her, switching her song once again, breaking the contact.

The grey mare looked back at the ground, then glanced back up at Knight with a smirk. She then looked back away, shoving her hooves in her messy green bangs, then ruffling her mane to make it more messy and boyish. She seemed to be losing her cool. All this love talk did make her happy, since it was rare for her now to do so, but she didn't want to break the wall in her brain of not being girly. The Earth Pony then flattened down the band aid on her nose, then crinkled her nose a little. She then got onto her back, and rolled around in the dirt, getting herself all messy. "Wow, that's better," she said with a raspy tone. Her cleared her throat then sat up and picked up her hoofball. She glanced back at Knight. "Everything will be alright Knighty, I promise."

Lunar Knight smiled at Eternity. "I'm sure I won't be a hero. I mean Equestria already has like 6, Princess Twilight and her friends." She still smiled after saying that. "But thank you for trying to make me laugh." She then moved closer to Eternity and bumped her shoulder on Eternity, a little. "Although I think you are only half right." She giggled a little. "If I did meet Princess Luna, face to face. My mind would stop working and I would probably wind up sweating a lot, but I probably would start rambling and not make all that much sense. Then she would wonder if I would even make a good guard." She added a laugh to the end to show that she didn't really think that would happen. "Thanks for saying all that." She said after Eternity told her it would be all alright. It did make her feel better.

Knight watched as Eternity as she messed up her mane and seemed to act a little crazy. Knight tried to hold back a laugh as Eternity started to roll in the dirt. She found it humorous that Eternity would do that. "Oh my." She said as a bit of her laugh escaped. "That did look like fun." She smiled at Eternity. "If it is true that it's better, maybe I should take a roll?" She giggled as she said that. She found Eternity to be an interesting pony. "I can never tell what you are going to do next." She giggled again. She moved closer to Eternity and brushed some of the dirt out of her mane. "Thanks for the talk Eternity." She smiled at her and nodded.

Eternity smiled at her comment about nopony being able to tell what she would do next, which was 100% correct because she does things at random. She always loved to be unique. "Yeah, I get that a lot," she chuckled looking at Knight. Her eyes sparkled as the sun came into view on the dirty path as she kept a stare on Knight. "You're very welcome," she said in a soft whisper.

The grey mare then rapidly shook her head, trying to get the extra dirt out of her mane. She stood up and did the same with her tail, then sat back down next to Knight. Her red eyes looked off into the cloudy blue sky, carefully listening to the lyrics of her song. Some words formed out of her mouth in a soft melody, so once again singing to herself. She kept a glance at the sky, paying close attention to her lyrics. Her ear twitched, hearing herself singing. She snapped back into reality, then took out one of her ear buds. "Nice view isn't it?" she asked Knight, bringing her head to the side to face the violet pony.

The clouds came over the sun, blocking the extra light. The cloud though looked like it was glowing. The brightness of the cloud grew over the sky, making it yellow, blue, green, and purple. "Woah," Eternity muttered quietly to herself. She didn't see views like this often, she was always practicing for her hoofball game or off into her own world, singing to herself.


The dirty pony looked down at her hoofball, remembering that she had a game tomorrow. "Awe dang." Eternity took her egg shaped ball into her hooves. She got up, holding her ball. The mare then trotted over to a little grass patch on the side of the dirt path. She laid onto her back, then started tossing the ball to herself. She stopped for a second, glancing at Knight. She bit her lip then sat up a little. "Knighty, you should practice with me," she said in her raspy voice. She sat up completely, then tossed her ball lightly over to Knight.

Knight smiled at Eternity. She was a nice pony and Knight liked her. Knight glanced up into the sky when Eternity said it looked nice. She smiled and nodded. "Yeah, it is." She said watching as the clouds moved. When the cloud covered and gave the sun a new look, Knight was surprised. She had never seen anything like it. "Whoa indeed." She smiled as she watched. She stared off into space but Eternity's singing brought her back to the moment. She glanced at Eternity and just listened to her sing.

Knight was a little surprised when Eternity spoke again. Knight looked at her a little worried. For a second Knight thought that she realized something really bad. Knight then realized they both forgot about Eternity's hoofball game. She smiled a little as Eternity picked that ball up. Knight was about to excuse herself and let Eternity get back to practicing but Eternity surprised her once more, by inviting her to practice. "M-Me?" She asked as the ball was tossed to her. She was able to catch it, but it bounced out of her hoofs. "I'm not all that good at sports." She said with a nervous laugh. "Besides I don't really know the rules." She picked up the ball and started to move towards Eternity. "I'm not sure how helpful I will be, in your training." She smiled anyways. "But if you really want me to help." She nodded her head. "So." She said stopping next to Eternity. "What do I need to do, to help you with your training?" She asked curiously. She was happy to help Eternity.

Eternity gave out a little chuckle. Of course it was hard to catch the egg shaped ball with hooves and it took a while for the grey mare to even master catching and holding the ball correctly. It didn't take her as long as a normal pony though, since she was always fond of this silly sport. Receiving the ball back from Knight, she caught it with one hoof. The mare then put it back onto the ground and held it down. "You can help me just by catching the ball and throwing it back, kay?" Eternity threw the tossed the ball back to Knight. She then threw it back to Eternity, and while it was in mid-air, the dark pony leaped into the air, did a front flip, then landed onto her hooves with the ball in them. "See? All you have to do it throw it and it'll help me by a landslide."

Doing a few more flips, catches, and twirls, Eternity was done practicing for the day. The sun was starting to fall down, and the moon was rising. Keeping a good eye on the moon, Eternity sat down to look at the sunset. All the colors were smeared across the sky like the top of a rainbow getting rained on. The sight simply amazed her, since once again she rarely took the time to sit and watch something at beautiful as these things. Nature was simply amazing, especially to this earth pony. "Once again, nice view," she said in her tomboyish voice. "It is almost impossible to look at the sunset and not dream."

Humming to the soft tune of her music once again, she took a deep breath to cool herself off from all the running a leaping. She was glad she could relax for the rest of the day, then tomorrow would come and she'll be her frantic self as always just before a game. Then once the game is over, she'll start relaxing again. It was like a little never ending cycle of her emotions. Eternity though, stared off into the sky, thinking about the most random of things. She blinked, then looked at the sky again, thinking of something else to say to knock off the silence. "At sunset, nature is painting a picture for us... day after day... pictures of infinite beauty," she whispered, taking another breath. She then lifted off into her thoughts again, humming to her soft tune.

Lunar Knight smiled when Eternity still wanted her help. "Alright." She said with a nod. "That sounds simple enough." She smiled and started to help Eternity. Knight wasn't that great at catching or throwing the ball, but she kept trying. She was surprised by how good Eternity was, but after thinking about it, it made sense. Eternity was the team leader, so she would need to be good at the game. After watching Eternity doing her best in the training, Knight decided to do the same. She kept trying to improve herself while practicing. It was a pretty fun way to train her body, since she would need to have a better body to join the Royal Guard.

Knight didn't even notice that the sun was setting till Eternity stopped and commented on the view. Knight looked at the setting sun and smiled. "That is very true." She said to both of her comments. This time of day was a good day to drift off into her dreams. Just watching the sunset was very relaxing. Knight smiled to herself as she watched. She then heard Eternity start to hum. Knight glanced at her. Knight had a fun time that day and wondered how the next day would go. She was invited by Eternity to go and watch her hoofball match and that did sound like fun, even though she didn't watch that many sports. She then heard Eternity mention the sunset again. Knight smiled and replied. "Well, truthfully a lot of times nature looks like a picture." She looked back at the sunset. "You just have too keep an eye out for them. Sometimes they are hard to see." She closed her eyes and thought back to her very first Summer Sun Celebration. She smiled as she remember how beautiful it was.

Eternity closed her eyes, not to block off the sun, not to sleep (because she hated that) but just to relax. The mare fell onto her back with a soft sigh. She hasn't been this relax ever. She can calm her self down easily, but her nerves would mostly get her anyway. She didn't even want to think about her hoofball game that was in the next day, it would make her a nervous wreck.

Pushing the thoughts out, she listened to her song. It was called Runnin, (by Adam Lambert). She started humming a lot louder now, almost forming words. They sounded a lot like mumbles though, no clear words. She then opened her red eyes, then glanced at Knight. She smiled, then sat back up, shifting closer to her. She then took one of her ear buds and put it in Knight's ear once again. She continued humming, looking at the now dark sky. The stars were now coming into view, and no other pony were outside anymore. "Jeez the time is going by fast," she whispered, putting her front hooves behind her to lean on them. She took another deep breath, then spit out her gum on the grass. She was now full on singing, but quietly. She didn't want to disturb the others who might be sleeping. The mare glanced back at Knight and smirked, then looked away once again.

One Pegasus was clearing the clouds from the sky so they would have a clear sky in the night. The Pegasus waved at the two ponies, and Eternity waved back. The Pegasus then flew off. "Night duty would seem cool. Of course I don't have wings, but it would be cool," she said aloud. She then sighed once again and started humming once again. Her eyes started to droop, getting all of a sudden tired. She was normally never tired, and she dreaded sleeping. Maybe it was because she had been practicing all day. Either way, it was weird. Eternity didn't have a place to stay at, the rest of the team was also probably at a party that she didn't want to take part of. The mare looked at Knight. "So.. Knighty. Got a place for me to stay at?" she asked in her sarcastic tone. At least she was still awake enough to say some jokes. "Nah, I just got no where to lay. I can sleep outside though," she said with a smirk. She then laid on her back, hooves cuddling her hoofball. She fake yawned, then scratched her head, still joking around.

Knight watched the sky. It was very nice to just sit there. Eternity the let Knight listen to the music she had playing. Knight closed her eyes and listened to the music. She found the music to be good. She wasn't really one to listen to many different kinds of music, but it was always good to hear different genre of music. When Knight opened her eyes the sun had finished setting and it was getting darker. It was now night. "Time flies when you're having fun." She said when Eternity mention time. She smiled as she glanced at the other mare.

Knight noticed Eternity wave up at something, so she glanced into the sky. She noticed a Pegasus clearing the sky of clouds. "There are quite a few jobs that are night jobs and you don't even need wings for them." She looked back at Eternity. "Like being a guard. They have to protect the princesses at all hours of the day." Knight was getting a little tired. She was used to staying up a little while longer. She sometimes enjoyed the night. Some nights she would just watch the night, she never really knew what she expected to happen during those nights.

Eternity then mention needing a place to sleep, but before Knight could reply she made a joke about sleeping outside. "Sleep outside?" She said in a fake dread voice. She quickly glanced around. "Alright. I found the perfect pillow." She quickly laid down then rolled so her head was resting on Eternity's body, as if it was a pillow. She then pretended to stretch and made a fake yawn. She then pretended to fall asleep. Knight even started to fake snore. It was obvious that she was still away since she was trying to hold in a small laugh.

Eternity opened one of her eyes as she felt something lay down on her stomach. Her red eyes found Knight laying on her, following the fake act that she was carrying. The grey mare lifted an eyebrow, leaning up on her hooves to get a better view of Knight. With a small chuckle, she took her ear buds out and into her jacket. She then smirked, an idea popping in her mind. "Do you know what pillows do to tired ponies?" she asked aloud with her devilish smirk. "They cuddle them!" she laughed in her fake scary voice. She then rolled up in a ball, hugging Knight close to her as the violet pony rested her head on her stomach. She kept her arms tight around the other mare, keeping a wide smile on her face.

The grey mare sighed, glancing at the stars again. The shiny dots sparkled across the sky, forming whatever shapes they felt like forming. Some looked like flowers or maybe a cat. Others looked like blobs, but they still looked magnificent anyway. Eternity smiled at the stars, knowing that many other ponies were looking at them too. She always thought that, ponies looking at the same stars as her, dreaming about something totally out of hoof.

Eternity put one hoof under her head to rest it. Her neck was getting tired from holding her head up, so she used her arm as a rest. The wet, dewy grass met her arm, as with the rest of her body. She didn't mind being wet, in fact she loved water. But anyway, now growing a little more tired, she closed her eyes. She tried to open them, but they wouldn't open up. She didn't want to fall asleep, not right now. She was so warm though, and surprisingly comfortable with a pony laying on her and herself laying on wet grass.

Her eyes finally opened back up again. "Dang," she muttered, looking at the stars again. She sighed like always, biting her bottom lip. Don't fall asleep now..

Lunar Knight laughed as Eternity cuddled with her. She had to admit that this was fun. After a moment Knight noticed that Eternity was looking up into the sky. Knight looked up at the sky as well. It was a very beautiful night. She smiled to herself as the two of them laid on the grass. Knight often wondered just what everyone saw in the night sky. What kind of shapes did the stars make for them. There could be countless shapes up in the stars. She smiled and closed her eyes. After helping Eternity practice it was nice to lay down on the ground.

Knight heard Eternity mumble something as they lay there. Glancing at Eternity, Knight noticed she was close to falling asleep. Knight smiled to herself and got off of Eternity. "It is getting late." She said stretching. If Knight laid there for much longer, she might have started to fall asleep as well. She glanced at Eternity and thought of something. "Okay." She said nodding her head. "My house isn't that far from here." She said with a smile. "I won't have you sleeping outside. Who knows, you might catch a cold and not be able to play tomorrow." She started to lead the way. "And I won't take no as an answer." She smiled back at Eternity again. "I suggest you hurry up or I'll leave you behind. Unless you have a place to sleep already." She waited for Eternity to start fallowing. She did hope that Eternity took her up on the offer.

Eternity's eyes widened once Knight said something about catching a cold and not being able to play her game which was in the next day. The grey mare shot into the air, landing on her hooves. "NOT PLAY TOMMOROW?" she started, yelling at the top of her lungs. "Yeah, no. Let's not risk that," she said, wide awake now. Knight then started teasing her of leaving without her. She frowned, then rolled her eyes. "Ahaha, very funny Knighty," she muttered, trotting up with her.

The dirt path was once muddy and dusty, but now it was soft a dry. How did the pegasi do it? No pony knew. Eternity trotted on the path, following Knight as she still teased. Even if Knight didn't want her to stay at her place, Eternity would want to stay with her anyway. Something was tugging on her, she knew what it was, but she didn't want to face it. She though, was fond of this feeling, she hated it anyway. E knew that it was nothing good, so she ignored it as much as possible. But still, her heart tugging her along behind Knight, she couldn't get it out of her head.

After walking for a minute or two, Eternity opened her mouth again. "Are we there yet?" she asked. It was starting to get chilly out. She could feel it even if she was wearing a jacket and arm warmer things. Suddenly the ponies stopped, and they were at the house. "About time," she mumbled. "It's getting cold." The ponies walked to the door, then opened it. Eternity sighed, already feeling the warm air hit her in the face. She hasn't even stepped in yet and she could feel it!

Eternity looked at Knight then smirked. Time to tease her. "I'm guessing you have Luna posters all over your walls," she laughed with a grin on her face. "What else would you do all day besides look at Luna. Sounds like a good job to me," she continued. The earth pony then wiped the smirk off her face. "Alright, I'm done joking around. Now then." E then moved off to the side and waved her hoof inside. "Ladies first."

Knight was a little surprised by how loud the other pony was. She didn't think she would have taken her so seriously. Knight smiled as they walked. She did enjoy spending time with Eternity. Maybe this was what a close friend was. Knight didn't really have too many close friends. She did have friends but none she would call close or her best friend. She lead Eternity towards her house. Knight laughed when Eternity asked the most clique question. "Are we there yet?" Knight looked at her and then said. "Almost."

They soon came on Knight's home. It was a modest home. Not that much different then the houses around it. Knight led Eternity to the door. "It will be warm inside." She said with a smile, then she opened the door. Knight noticed Eternity smirk and wondered why. That is when she started teasing about her crush again. "I-I do not." She blushed and looked away from Eternity. "And for your information, I do have a job." She then lead Eternity inside.

The living room was a very plain looking room. There was a fire place, a book shelf, a couch, a rug and a plant. There was also a door to the kitchen. The fire had gone out long before they got there but the house was still warm. The book shelf had quite a bit of books in it, mostly different history books on the Royal Guard or training books, but there were some normal books in there as well. Knight walked over to the fire place and started to light the fire. Soon there was a soft light in the room. As the room started to lighten up something hidden in one of the corners became visible. It was an old grey Chest plate. The only thing that seemed new about it was the mark painted on it. It was a crudely painted copy of Princess Luna's cutie mark.

"So I was thinking I would sleep on the couch down here." She then looked at Eternity. "And you could take the bed upstairs." She smiled. "Since you are the guest, I figure you would enjoy the bed more." She then started to the kitchen. "Do you want to eat anything before we call it a night?"

Eternity walked in the very warm house. The fireplace lightened up everything, showing an average looking Ponyville house. It was clean and tidy, which Eternity liked. She hated messy ponies, even if she was one herself. Guess she hates herself then. Odd how that works.

E turned her head off to the side to look around more. She looked at a corner of a wall, seeing a shiny silver chest plate with Luna's cutie mark on it. The grey mare trotted over to it, looking at it with her red eyes. She turned back at Knight, then looked back at the plate. She brought her hoof over to it, seeing the reflection. "Nice chest plate," she said with a smile. "Might do you well when you become a guard for your most precious Luna," she teased, turning back to Knight. She loved teasing her over her crush, though she hated it at the same time. Her feelings and emotions were all over the place today.

Knight started to talk about where they would each sleep, her saying she would sleep on the couch, and E would sleep on the bed which was upstairs. Eternity just shrugged. She didn't want to make her sleep on the couch just because she was the guest. "Nah," she started walking to the fire. "That's unfair, I'll sleep out here. You can sleep in your bed," she said, sticking out her hooves out to get warm. Another smirk formed on her face. "Or we can both sleep on the bed. Unless it's too small. I don't take up much space though," she started talking once again. "I still don't want you to stay out here."

Being warm now, Eternity took off her arm warmers then her jacket. She then pulled off her pants, and sat back down. She was overheating now, which she didn't like. Her cutie mark was now showing, which she didn't even think about. A pink/red heart with bandages on it. Eternity stretched her arms and legs, then flopping on her back in front of the fire.
