"Buttermilk Stew." Firespin said as she looked at what to do next, "It sounds good, and should taste that way too." she said, reading the third direction:
3.Peel 2-3 potatoes and dice them into small pieces.
Firespin looked in the cupboards, and could only find sweet potatoes. Not only that, but looking in the bag, she could only find one. Of all the days they had go grocery shopping... She didn't want the cream to go to waste, so she decided to make due with what she had. Firespin cleaned off the potato in the sink before laying it out on the counter, peeling and cutting it into small, square pieces before putting them in the stew. Now, what was next?
4.Put about 1/4 a stick of butter into the stew. This can vary on how large the pan is.
Well, a half a stick of butter should make up for the lack of potatoes, right? She went into the fridge, getting out a stick of butter and cutting it in half before throwing one of the halves in the stew. Occasionally she'd look to see what Ashti was doing, finding his methods interesting.
5.Slowly heat up the pan to a boil.
Upon reading this, Firespin assumed that she must have done something right by boiling the pot earlier. And to think, her parents said that she should learn to 'hold her ponies' and do all the steps. She read further that one could add vegetables and such. Finding her own spices, she added some to the soup, picking bit by bit in an attempt to 'balance them all out', but soon enough managed to stop herself once she realized how many she already put in. ... Ashti was probably used to spices anyways.
6.Stir and wait about 30 minutes. Check regularly.
Taking a metal ladle, she used the bottom to stir it for a few minutes before putting a lid on it. She could feel the heat of the ladle as she took it out of the soup, washing it off and putting it away.
"Oh, yeah, totally." Firespin said, "I had to replace a few ingredients, but I'm sure that everything should turn out fine." There was a shrill noise, and the sound of something trembling, "Is the tea ready?" she asked, but was unaware that it was actually her pan that was making the noise.
