- Ringlet is a member of the famous colt-band, the Beat-Bugs. He may sing a song or so, if written by Gritt or Hymn. He's the Drummer.
- He, as all Beat-Bugs, wears a gray jacket, collar and black tie on stage.
- Ringlet also wears "Hoof-Rings", large rings that go around a Pony's Hoof. He wears four, one for each of his hooves.
-- He also tends to wear a Friendship Bracelet, its twin is worn by Humble Hummer.
- Ringlet has Ludwig drums.
- Ringlet is Left-Hoofed, mainly, but he is ambidextrous.

Mane/Tail Style: Mane is poofy at its end; But short. Tail is long, thick near the ends with a string small but bulgy strands.

- His cut, while dubbed a Beat-Bug Cut, slightly overshadows his eyes, and is slightly longer than usual.
Eye Color: Bright Blue.
Cutie Mark: A pink five-pointed star with four small gold rings surrounding it.
Other Scars/Markings: There are small scars around his stomach, due to surgeries that happened in his youth.

He is a bit slow, at least in manner, and he isn't willing to offend anyone, at least personally. Ringlet is a practical pony, though he doesn't usually voice it, but he is an understanding stallion, willing to hear both sides of something. That isn't to say that he contains patience for every pony, as everyone has their breaking point, it is just very difficult for him to reach his snapping point. When he does snap, he's prone to great rages, something so rare and out of character, you'd think he was possessed.

Despite being an Earth Pony, he uses his sticks in his hooves, and he wears rings around his hooves, thus it would seem that this difficulty would inhibit his drumming. Ringlet was born an only colt and Earth Pony, to a Unicorn mare named Oath and a Unicorn stallion, a cake-maker named Lionheart. Lionheart abandoned Oath and Ringlet when Ringlet was young, and his mother remarried to another, an Earth Pony by the name of Graveline. It was Graveline who encouraged Ringlet's musical ability.
Ringlet was very sick as a colt. He contracted Appendicitis very young, before his Cutie Mark. This left him in a hospital for months, cutting back his schooling.
Almost foreboding, he was provided two toys, a drum and a train. In trying to give a nearby sick foal the train, he hit his head and was put into a coma for a week. This alone extended his hospital stay for six more months.
His mother was told repeatedly that he would die, but he survived his appendix rupture.
During his preteen years, he contracted Pleurisy. He stayed in the hospital for two years because of it. He never returned to school afterwards.
This developed his food allergies and sensitivities, often he has to bring his own food.
Ringlet was a very late bloomer, being in the beginning of his late-teens when he finally earned his Cutie Mark.
Ringlet was once a train pony, but due to a lack of height and strength, he could not pull the train when the coal ran out. In fact, he only started working on the train for the uniform, and he earned a small degree of mechanics.
During a Music-Craze in his home town, Ringlet joined a small band, led by a unicorn and a small group of pegasi. The Unicorn, named Stormrunner, was the one who nicknamed Ringlet "Rings" for his rings and eventually "Ringo" in favor of an Appaloosan, or rather Western, style name set. The band was called Storm and the Hurricanes.
Ringlet was offered a deal by the Beat-Bug's manager, Extended "Eppy" Player. Because the Beat-Bugs paid more than the Hurricanes, Ringlet chose the Beat-Bugs. The Hurricanes fell apart not long after, since the accidental death of Ringlet's old friend Stormrunner.
It was Ringlet who replaced the Beat-Bugs' original drummer. The fans at the time didn't like the replacement, and it was one of the guitarists of the Bugs, the soon-good life-time friend Jorge Purpure, who got a black eye from defending him.
After one of the concerts in the Beat-Bug's home town, a young Earth Pony fan-filly came back stage and kissed Humble Hummer on a dare. Because she preferred Ringlet, she did the same for him. This was Seastar, a mane-dresser, one of the Beat-Bug's original fans, and Ringlet's current very special somepony.

- By some fans, Ringlet is considered stupid and expendable. While he isn't book smart nor has a good degree of education, he isn't stupid. And he isn't expendable, as its considered that he is the Heart of the group and the one of the only ones that keeps the group together.
- Some fans have theorized that Ringlet maybe a Unicorn in disguise, or with his horn cut off. While this silly-filly theory came from the fact that his Cutie Mark is a Star rather than a Drum or Drum Sticks. This is untrue, and Ringlet often jokes that he wasn't important enough to be born with a horn.
- Ringlet is the only one with previous Band experience, having been in Storm and the Hurricanes.
