- Jorge, Hymn, and Gritt wear a back-brace and leg braces, which allows them to stand on their hind legs for long periods of time, such as for concerts.

He, unlike most Pegasus, prefers his hooves on the ground rather than in the clouds but he can whip up a very nasty storm if pushed to it. He is very fast, with his love of racing, and he is very good with plant-nature and even has an interest in the strange mysticism of Zebra kind. As much as he likes the fame, he isn't one for material wealth and believes that there is something more. This, however, comes into the conflict of his need of comfort and relaxation. He believes that there is a balance to things, such as with the Pony-Races or with Magic or Nature, and that the reason there is only about a rare few of the Alicorn princesses is to balance with the main Pony races, just like the balance of Day and Night.
Jorge is the youngest out of four children, and comes from a very ordinary life, originally. Ironically, his entire family are Pegasi, but they lived on the ground instead of the clouds. His mother, Charity, was a store manager's assistant and his father, Hargreaves, was a carriage puller. He had normal aspirations to take over his father's job.
But of course, Cutie Marks get in the way.
He has an epiphany while looking at some guitars, and his special purpose showed up then and there. For school or anything, he was thinking about guitars and music. He even got lessons.
Jorge first met his soon-long time friend, Hymn Hummer, on his father's carriage rides. They got along very well do to the fact that they were both guitarists of some sort, and loved Rock'n Roll music. It was Hymn who introduced Jorge to Gritt Artis, the leader of the Quarry-Ponies. Jorge was often treated as a little kid because of his age difference with Hymn and Gritt, and sometimes ignored. He was still in the band when the name was changed to Beat-Bugs.
It was a long time before the Beat-Bugs got their final true member, after dropping the original drummer. Their new drummer was Ringlet Starr. Unfortunately, a lot of their local fans didn't like the fact that Starr had replaced the original drummer. It had gotten to the point of protests against, and Jorge had gotten so tired of it that he had yelled at the crowds about it. This was answered by somepony headbutting him, giving him a black eye.
...And it didn't exactly help that he was smack with a carriage not long after.
He wrote his first song in a hospital bed after getting a cold touring Equestria.
Trivia
- It has been rumored by Fans that Jorge could do the legendary Sonic Rainboom. While it is an interesting prospect, Jorge will tell you that his speed isn't nearly up to par, and while he loves racing, he honestly just wants to stick with his music.
- After an unfortunate letter where Jorge says that he liked Jelly-Foals (Equestrian version of Jelly-Babies), some Beat-Bug fans have taken to throwing Jelly-Foals at the band. Even worse, most of Equestria throws the much harder Jelly-Beans instead.
- Jorge is one of two Beat-Bugs that the fan-fillies really go after, the other being Hymn.
- Jorge doesn't believe that its just Princess Celestia or Princess Luna, and he firmly believes that something else is out there, that there might actually be something more than the Sun and Moon, or maybe (Even blasphemously) there is something beyond that is greater and more powerful.
- Jorge is the only Beat-Bug with Musical experience, as he had actual guitar lessons.
- Jorge is also the only Beat-Bug whose family has not been broken up by abandonment or death.
