The summer days of Ponyville were idyllic wonders, a combination of hard work from weather teams and well maintained parks and gardens from the earth ponies. The sky was a picturesque blue stretching as far as the eye cloud see with only the occasional puffy white patch of cloud, the sun shone down brightly giving a warmth to the air. Thankfully there was a cooling breeze to keep things from becoming clammy or too humid. Ponies were busy and bustling, walking between stalls and enjoying their leisure time. While certain ponies simply wandered from place to place, enjoying the weather and temperate climate, others had destinations and things to do.
Ponyville Park was always a hotspot of activity, though it was thankfully large enough that it never got crowded. Ponies played games quite exuberantly while others laid on blankets having picnics or simply lounging around, it was a great day all around. One part of the activities of the day was going to a nearby cart or carriage one might call it that was on the edge of the park in a flat grassy clearing. It had been there for couple of years now and it was the home of a clown, or a jester, performer, entertainer, really whatever you cared to name him. Quite a popular figure all over, the folks of Ponyville have come to enjoy the free shows he puts on certain Saturdays of the weeks. Today was once such day and the cart had a modest number of ponies sat outside it waiting for the show. There was a raised wooden stage in front of the car that came up to the level of the bottom step leading to the door.
It was around mid day that the show began, Quip leapt from the roof of the carriage and landed with a flip on his back legs, able to stand and move quite well on just his rear hooves. His shows were a wondrous combination of magic (the showman kind), acrobatics, jokes, death defying, Quip loved to entertain in an all manner of ways. Currently he was putting on a mime act, he'd started with a simple suitcase that he was acting was suspended in mid air, stuck in place as he tried to move it desperately, at which point Mad Cap came and picked it up to take it off stage, now he was trying as hard as he could to move an invisible block that didn't exist, it was so convincing that you'd swear that there was some kind of block there, the way he moved against the air and his control, he even leaned against it at one point.
The show progressed in this manner with ponies laughing, cheering and wondering how he did some of his tricks, it was the same of any performer. Quip loved making ponies laugh and smile, Mad Cap was helping him as always and even had her own little acts in the show which the audience thoroughly enjoyed.
