A Trip to the Crystal Empire [Dead]

It is a beautiful day today, the sun shining brightly with its warm radiance, the wind blowing gently across Blitz Wing's face, and all kinds of ponies are out enjoying it as well. Blitz is walking down the path toward the train station alongside Storm Wind who seemed to not be enjoying this day as much, looking straight ahead towards the station. Well to Blitz he seemed like that, though he is pretty sure Storm isn't being aware of his own facial expression. Blitz's smile went away for a bit knowing exactly why Storm isn't smiling. He knows Storm loves to fly and seeing that he himself can't exactly fly just yet pretty much kept Storm grounded with him. Storm's eyes occasionally looked at the sky when a Pegasus flew by or when a cloud shaded them from the sun's light. Blitz then looked down to Storm's wings, seeing them twitch a little pretty much showing his eagerness to fly. Blitz then looked at his wings then back to Storm's, seeing how powerful looking they are compared to his own meager wings. 

Blitz shook his head knowing that one day his wings would be just as powerful...just not today it seems. If only he could fly, then He and Storm wouldn't be taking a train to the Crystal Empire. "If only I could just fly...Then we wouldn't have to take this train and you wouldn't have to be on the ground here with me..." Blitz said. Storm then looked at Blitz, smiled, and began to speak, "Well even if you could fly, the north can be pretty dangerous for a colt, and don't worry about me Blitz. I will enjoy this trip even if I can't fly, because I am not going alone." Blitz thought for a moment. He didn't think that Storm wouldn't be enjoying himself, it is just that he knows how much Storm loves to fly. Blitz decided to change the subject, "Well, how long do you think it will take to get there?" Storm seemed unable to answer his question, like he didn't know or something since he seemed to be pondering about it. Then he spoke, "You know what? I don't really know. I have always flown there but if it were me flying I would definitely be traveling faster than that train. And speaking of trains, we should get aboard before we miss it." 

Blitz didn't realize that they were already at the train and that Storm already had their tickets. With out warning Storm nudged him inside as the conductor was shouting, "All aboard!" The conductor is a brown earth pony, male by the looks of his facial features, that had a groomed mane and tail with a suit and tie with some sort of hat on his head to top it off. He smiled as he saw Blitz being nudged in by Storm Wind. Blitz and Storm then took their seats and waited for the train to take off.

Lunar Knight was almost out of breath. She had practically ran half way across Ponyville. She needed to make it to the train station before the next train left. She had been hired to deliver a package to the Crystal Empire. The pony had been late getting the package ready and now Knight was a little behind, so she had to run all the way to the train station. She had already got her ticket a head of time, which was lucky but also the reason she had to rush. The ticket was for the next train leaving and if she missed it, she would need to buy another ticket.

Luckily Knight had made it, with only seconds to spare. She walked up to the train, and quickly found her ticket. She was glad she didn't lose it. Lunar Knight held out her ticket to get punched and walked onto the train. Her legs were starting to feel like jelly after the long run to the train station. Normally she was used to that kind of exercise, but this time she was pushing her self a little too much. Hopefully the rest of the ride would be relaxing.

Knight started toward her seat. There seemed to be quite a few ponies on their way to the Crystal Empire. Knight was curious about what they were all planning, but at that moment all she wanted to do was sit down and let her poor hooves have a break. Sadly the train wasn't going to let her do that. It started to move and the car Knight was in lurched forward. The combination of the direction she was moving, her tired legs and the lurch of the train car, made Knight loose her footing and she crashed to the floor. "Oww." She said with her eyes closed. Opening her eyes she noticed that she had dropped the package. "Oh no." She said getting worried. She hoped that she didn't break what ever was in the package. She picked it up gentle, afraid moving it to roughly would cause it to just crumble to pieces.

Blitz went ahead and took the seat nearest to the window and Storm sat in the seat next to him. Blitz began to feel excited, he had never gotten to travel before so everything outside of Ponyville would be new for him. "Wow, I cant wait to see what I have been missing all this time!" Blitz said excitedly. Storm chuckled and said, "It is quite exciting isn't it. You are just getting the view on the ground though. Just wait and see what it will be like when you take to the skies. You don't get a better view than being up there." Blitz started fantasizing about flying across Equestria like Storm Wind had and seeing all of it for the first time in the sky. Storm smiled and leaned back in his seat. Without warning the train jolted forward and began moving, once again making its journey across Equestria. 

Blitz looked over hearing a noise, almost like something fell. He noticed Storm's ear twitch at the sound of it. Surprisingly Storm Wind had already gotten up out of his seat to react to a package falling but wasn't close enough to catch it. Blitz looked over to see a mare that had fallen over as well. She is an Earth pony since she didn't have a horn or any wings. She is purple, or violet? Blitz wasn't sure, the colors looked the same to him. She has a blue mane with some sort of ponytail he hasn't seen before, plus she looks to be in shape kind of like how Storm looked to be in shape. 

Blitz decided he was going to stay in his seat since he doesn't really now her. Like always though Storm came up to her and said, "Hey I am sorry miss. If only I had noticed sooner I would have caught you and the package from falling. Are you alright?" Storm then smiled seeing that everything seemed okay. "If you want you could sit with us." Storm said looking back to where Blitz was sitting. "My little buddy is over there. Though he is a bit shy," Storm added.

Lunar Knight slowly examined the package. There didn't appear to be any damage to it. Knight sighed happily. It wouldn't be good for her if she got an unhappy employer. A bad review could wind her with no work. As she placed the package down, Knight noticed a pony approach her. It was a grey stallion with a yellow and black mane. He started to speak to her. She laughed a little once he was finished talking. "I-I'm alright." She said with a slight blush. She could only imagine how silly she looked after she fell. "It's not like I was put in your care or anything. So you have no reason to be sorry." She smiled as she looked towards the seat.

Knight smiled at the young colt. "I would like that a lot." She said looking back at the oldest of the two ponies. Knight stood up and started towards the seat. She then looked between the grey stallion and the black colt. "Greetings." She said smiling at the two of them. "My name is Lunar Knight, but you can just call me Knight." She said taking a seat. She thought that the young colt was very cute. "So this train is heading to the Crystal Empire. Why are you two going there?" Knight looked between the two of them. She wasn't sure why the two of them would be going, other then sight seeing. She did hear that the empire was very pretty. "I am taking this there." She held up the package. "Somepony is paying me to transport this to the crystal empire." She smiled looking at the package.

Blitz could see them talking from where he was sitting but wasn't sure what Storm planned on saying. By the looks of things they seemed like they were getting along since they both seemed to be smiling. Then he noticed Storm look this way and the violet mare looked this way and smiled. Blitz as shy as he was with new ponies he looked down at his seat. Not really what you should do towards a smiling pony but he just didn't know what he should have done. Blitz decided to look back up only to see Storm Wind and the mare walking back to where he and Storm were sitting. 

Storm sat back down next to Blitz an smiled at him. She then caught their attention as she introduced herself as Lunar Knight. "Oh!" Storm said suddenly. "I should have introduced myself when I started our conversation. My name is Storm Wind but my friends call me Storm for short." Storm then looked at Blitz, probably hoping he would introduce himself and not be a little rude. Blitz looked back down at his front hooves and twiddled with them. "H-hi..." Blitz said shyly. He then blushed a little with embarrassment. Storm then butted in and said, "Ah..hmm. Well this is Blitz Wing. Sorry, he might be shy at first but he will get used to you. He did the same thing with my best friends and now they get along quite well." Blitz was pretty sure what Storm was trying to do and he means no harm doing it. He just wants Blitz to not be so shy around new ponies anymore. That way Blitz can leave a better impression of himself when he is on his own.

Lunar Knight then asked why they were heading out to the Crystal Empire. Blitz being a little too shy sat quietly and listened for Storm to say something. Then Storm did speak, "Well I was originally going to go by myself there to go and see if there is some book that will improve my flying technique. That or its some scroll. I don't know it is what I heard from some ponies and friends anyway. But then I ran into Blitz and thought, hey my little buddy hasn't even seen the Crystal Empire. So I asked him to come for some sightseeing as well." Storm sat there for a moment then asked, "So uh why are you heading there?" Blitz eyed the package. What is it? Blitz thought. Storm spoke up again, "So is that your job? You deliver things?" 

(Well that is alright. It says open though so really anyone can join in anytime. I don't know if that will be a problem though.)

Lunar Knight listened to Storm introduced them and as he explained why they were going to the Crystal Empire. It seemed like an interesting idea. "Well it is nice to meet you." She said nodding her head. "Hello Blitz." She smiled at Blitz, then looked at Storm. "You have a very interesting idea for going to the Empire. I am just going for work." She laughed a little. She looked a little confused when Storm asked about her job. "Oh. No." She shook her head. "I am taking this to the Crystal Empire. I am delivering this package but I'm not a delivery pony." She smiled a little. "You see, I just do odd jobs." She shrugged. "I do pretty much anything. I do a lot of different kinds of jobs. It is fun, but it isn't what I want to do."

Knight looked at Blitz. She smiled again. "Well it seems that we have something in common." She nodded a little. "You see, I have not been to the Crystal Empire either." She smiled once more. She like Blitz, even if he was shy. "I have heard that it is a very beautiful place." She giggled a little imagining just how beautiful it could be. "Maybe I can get some kind of sight seeing done too." She glanced at the window as the train moved. "I mean all I was hired to do was take this to the Crystal Empire. After that I am free to do what ever I want." She looked at the two others. "I bet you two will have a lot of fun."

Blitz Wing wondered about odd jobs thinking about all the different jobs you could do. Meanwhile, Storm looked curious about what she meant when she said, that is not the job she wanted to do. Blitz shook his head and came to the present looking over to Storm Wind. Storm spoke up, "Wait then what is it that you want to do? Why haven't you done that yet?" Not paying attention to their conversation, Blitz looked out the window seeing some birds fly by. He stared at their feathery wings as they cut through the air. Stretching his own wings out a little.

Blitz looked back over to Lunar Knight when he noticed her talking to him. Blitz thought, she hasn't been there either? He would have thought at least most of grown up ponies have seen the important places. All that Blitz was able to say was "Oh..." And looked down a little in thought. She continued to speak saying how she heard it was beautiful there, that would get Storm talking again. "Oh yeah it is very beautiful. The way the crystals gleam in the sunlight, and the view is just great. I have seen it both on the ground and in the sky, either way it is just as great." Both Storm and Blitz followed her gaze out the window, then she would speak again.

After what she had just said Blitz knew exactly what Storm was about to say. "Thanks, but why not hang out with us? I am sure you are not THAT busy, are you? What if we went with you on your job and after that we all can do some sightseeing."

Lunar Knight blushed a little, when asked what job she wanted to do. It usually came up, but it was a bit embarrassing to answer. "W-Well you see..." She said and sighed a little. "I want to join the Royal Guard. The reason I haven't yet is...I don't think I am ready to yet." She smiled a little. There was a lot of stuff that the Royal Guards needed to do, so Knight wanted to be ready. Of course she had been busy with her current job.

Knight was a little curious why Blitz seemed so shy. Storm then started to talk about the Crystal Empire. Knight smiled as he started to explain it. She had never been there, but she felt she had a good idea. She had heard a lot of other ponies talking about it, so it wasn't that hard to picture it. The chances of Knight picture the Crystal Empire perfectly was pretty low, so she didn't let her hopes get too large. Knight tried to picture what it would look like, based on the description Storm was giving her. "That sounds very nice." She said with another smile. "Sadly I would be unable to see it from the sky, at least, not like you." She glanced at his wings. Knight had often wondered what it would be like to fly like a Pegasus.

Knight was a little surprised when Storm suggested that they look tour the Crystal Empire together. "W-Well you don't have too, if you don't want to." She smiled a little. "I wouldn't say no to company. Plus you probably know some interesting places in the Crystal Empire."

Blitz was surprised to hear that she wanted to be a Royal Guard. It wasn't anything he would have thought she would say anyway. He looked over to Storm Wind to see his reaction but it wasn't what he was expecting to see. Storm's face didn't change, still got that look of question. What was he thinking, Blitz wondered. Finally Storm Spoke, "Well how would you know unless you have already tried it? I mean I am no expert when it comes to royal guard material but you wont exactly know until you've tried." Storms face looked calm now as he spoke toward the end of it and even leaned back and closed his eyes, still awake of course. 

Blitz couldn't believe of what Storm had just said. Considering Storm hadn't become what he wanted to be. Though Storm can say what he wants if it would motivate ponies. Storm looked a bit troubled now since he said he has seen the Crystal Empire from both angles. Especially when she said she wished to fly and see it like he can, which made him fold up his wings even more. Not meaning to rub it in or anything. Though Storm would have no problem carrying a full grown pony over a long period of time thanks to his intense training on his wings. That would though be a bit awkward for him to be carrying a pony almost the same size as him. He has carried Blitz on his back at times but Blitz is small and easier to fly with. 

Storm opened his eyes and sat up, "Then it is settled. We will have fun together and I could show you around, but I will have to make a quick errand to get what I need. I was wondering if you can watch Blitz while I am gone. It wont take long a can promise you that." Blitz was a bit startled but knew what Storm was trying to do. Storm continued, "He could accompany you on your errand while I do mine and I will find you guys afterwards, Deal?" Blitz would protest but maybe Storm has a point, maybe he should be a bit more social.

Lunar Knight smiled a little. "Well I did try a few years ago." She shook her head. "It was a bit of a surprise. There is quite a bit you need to prepare for." She giggled a little. "There is a bit more to it, then just standing around." She shook her head a little. She had heard a few ponies say that before. Knight wasn't sure why anypony would think that. She the noticed that Storm closed her eyes, wondering if he was falling asleep. Knight had to admit that the train was very soothing and if she let it, she could fall asleep pretty easy.

Knight didn't notice the subtle body language that Storm had, so she wasn't able to comment on whatever was on his mind. She was then surprised when Storm asked her to watch Blitz. She smiled at Blitz, who hadn't said much the entire trip. "Of course." She said looking at Storm. "I just have to deliver this." She placed a hoof on the box. "I have direction, so it shouldn't take long." Knight pulled out the paper with the directions and showed it to Storm. "So it's a deal." She nodded then turned to look at Blitz again. "I'm sure the two of us will have fun." She smiled and glanced at the window. "I'm sure there are quite a few beautiful things we can see, without getting into trouble." She looked back at Blitz. "I bet there are some really nice places in the Crystal Empire." Knight said starting to think. Suddenly she got an idea. "Oh, I know what we can do." She directed that sentence more at Blitz. Knight was hoping that would get him curious.
