Likes:
Flight: What Pegasus doesn't enjoy the feeling of the wind rushing through their wings? Phoenix Heart will be found from time to time in the skies over Canterlot, simply flying for the sake of flying. What is less known save for the ponies in her unit is that she does so to ease the weight of the burden that comes with being a medic.
The Job: While being a medic in the Royal Guard is not the easiest job - Phoenix Heart will tell you that in all... it's all worth it. Few ponies can tell you they're a member of the Royal Guard, and equally few can say they've literally saved lives. Phoenix Heart can say she's done both - and is proud of it. She wouldn't have it any other way... sometimes.
Sunsets: Watching the end of Princess Celestia's day and the beginning of Princess Luna's night - there's something to it that brings relief to this Pegasus' heart - whether it is the symphony of colors displayed or simply the fact that it's another day of doing her job that has come to an end, however, few ponies can tell.
Reading: Usually before sleeping, Phoenix Heart is no stranger to curling up on her bed and simply reading a chapter or two of a good book. Perhaps it's her cooldown time, few ponies can tell, since the door to her quarters is usually closed by this time.
Dislikes:
Rudeness: Being the medic she is, Phoenix Heart's job is already difficult enough. She does not tolerate any type of rudeness shown towards her - whether she's on duty or off duty. She will usually send the offending party away or leave herself, unless the offending party is someone who requires aid, in which case, she will focus on the task at hand. Very rarely will she actually stand up for herself.
Bad at social purposes: It's not easy being a medic. Talking to anypony who isn't in her unit is a challenge to Phoenix Heart, one she will often fail at. Simply because she hasn't done so often in her life - and friendship, even with every story she's heard of Princess Twilight Sparkle and friends - is still not something she's fully ready to say she's ready to even try. Sure, people like the medic for what she does - but what about beyond the call of duty?
The Job?: Phoenix Heart loves what she does. No question about it. But for everything she's done in her life... Phoenix Heart has saved some lives, yes, but she has seen some very bad things. Very bad situations, and every single one she sees is just additional weight for her to bear - and this is the reason why she often needs time to unwind - the weight of these burdens is sometimes too much to bear.
Motivation: For every pony that gets hurt, for every soldier that gets injured, somepony needs to be there to stop the pain - to help the wounded recover - and to even save their lives from time to time. It is for that reason and that reason alone that Phoenix Heart continues her job with every bit of pride that she had from day one - because if she wouldn't step up to the plate to become one of the Royal Guard's medics - who would?
Strengths: Phoenix Heart's will to save a pony goes beyond what many ponies would do to save one of their own. She will often try to get very close to that line of fire to pull an injured pony out of said line of fire, and her skills as a medic have saved a number of pony lives already, and Phoenix Heart would hope she will save more in the future as well.
Weaknesses/Flaws: Phoenix Heart's will to save a pony also can go too far from time to time - recklessly throwing herself into the line of fire herself, putting herself in just as much danger as the pony she's trying to save! She'll also, as mentioned earlier, forget to eat or sleep sometimes for the sake of being ready if a pony is in danger and needs her assistance. She's also quite terrible at social gatherings, as mentioned earlier.
Fears: Phoenix Heart's worst fear has happened before, unfortunately, and it's something she can't bear the thought of every time it happens. Phoenix Heart can't save everypony she gets to. Ponies have had their time in Equestria ended - some even with the Pegasus right next to them - and while the list of names is small - there still is a list, and it's always in the back of her mind when she seeks to save another pony's life - to stop that pony's name from being added to the list of ponies she didn't save...
Overall Persona: Phoenix Heart, while off duty, usually keeps to her room more often than not. Life as a medic isn't easy, and while she's also seen in the gym, consistently keeping herself in good shape, there's a few signs in those red eyes of hers and that facial expression that show that Phoenix Heart has seen quite a bit in her life. She's rather friendly when talked to, however, whether the pony is in her unit or not - though of course, she's usually easier to talk to if you're in her unit, as well. Yet she can also be rather quiet and reserved - for all the times she's taken the lead and started flying off ahead to try and save a pony, outside of such situations, she's usually showing some kind of nervous behavior - usually looking around herself when speaking to another pony. To her, however, her job as a medic is something of a thankless one - and it's something she will sometimes look to rectify. To be thanked by a pony who's life she just saved, or helped, is something she's often heard - when it comes to the Guard, though, and especially outside of her unit? Phoenix Heart knows that not only is her profession usually never thanked, but it's also sometimes even mocked at - then again, to her, as much as she hates to say it - the medic is the pony you never want to see... until you need them. And to her, well... if anypony needs a medic, Phoenix Heart wants to make sure that she's going to be there.
