Likes: Ash loves tampering with different plant juices and fruits. She will often be found with the icky substance on her hooves and in her mane, and will often go scouting for more material if she runs out. She also loves collecting flowers and sticking them in her mane and on her saddle-bags, sometimes crushing the petals to make colourful paints. She adores souvenirs and trinkets and takes them wherever she goes as a reminder of the places she roams. She often finds herself having to part with a few because their weight is overwhelming her or they're taking up to much space. Ash loves to use her paints, often dyeing her mane and tail with different colours and paints her saddle-bags. If Ash ever finds herself bored she takes out her paints and makes pictures on the ground or on some rocks or pebbles. Along with making herbal remedies and concotions, Ash loves to cook! Whether it's some exotic salad oir boiling stew, she very much likes to try her skills at different meals, and loves to eat it even more!
Dislikes: Ash does not like the winter time. It's a horrid season for travelling and she is forced to stay in the area of the nearest town for the season, or fear she gets caught in a snow drift without nearby help. She often has to get her saddle bags repaired in the winter time because of the cold and snow wearing away on the saddle bags. Another thing Ash does not like is farming. she's fine with cultivating plants along her trip and watching other species, but she does not grow plants, nor does she take care of her own pets. She does not like to wait and take care of something or to wait to harvest the fruits of her labor. Maybe she'll plant some seeds on a journey, but she won't stay and wait to harvest it. She rather do that on the way back or the next time she passes by. Ash doesn't make long term commitments, and she rather avoid them. She also doesn't like getting wet and avoids swamps and mist at all times, especially since it washes paints out of her mane and makes it very messy.
Motivation: Ash is motivated by the sense that each day there is a new discovery to be made and an adventure to be had. She likes to travel through badly-known and undiscovered landscapes to discover new plants and species and concoct different mixes of herbs and plants. Also, one of her motivations is to travel through the Everfree Forest and to find the fabled Castle of The Two Sisters. She has heard that there may be books in the castle library on plants not even known to Equestria. She would also like to settle down someday at the edge of ponyville and open a restaurant, hopefully known for the exquisite and exotic meals and foods, along with an herb stand where she could sell and barter with valuable information on wild plants and selling rare and common plants as well.
Strengths: Ash is a great cook, and also a very efficient one. She knows how to make a fire and find the ingredients in the forest to make a small vegetable stew or some fried peppers. She always carries a rock of salt when traveling in case her food isn't salty enough. Due to years of travelling by hoof Ash has developed a great stamina and can pace herself very well. As such, she can travel a very long time without a break, and this can also be contributed to by her muscles and strength. Ash is also very agile and travels light, only carrying what she needs and what she might need for the next few days. This is very useful for when she needs to quickly duck under a tree branch or sidestep a pony when in a hurry. This also helps a lot for when she's crossing bridges or jumping from stone to stone to try and cross a stream.
Weaknesses/Flaws: Though she has a great stamina and paces herself very well, she can not sprint or run long distances, and even if it's just a short sprint she may be left gasping for breath. As well as that, Ash can be very dependent on water, sometimes referring to it as her 'stamina'. She usually carries a lot of water with her as so not to suddenly run out when needed. Ash can also get a bit attached to her souvenirs and trinkets which severely burdens her load, but she eventually finds the strength and leaves it at a great boulder or an especially beautiful tree, maybe even sell it. Also, she can be very impatient, though she will try to stay calm. She will often silently fume when called for repeatedly or having to wait a while until her turn. She tries to stay calm and not explode, but she often wants to scream and just release her negative energy. She knows if she's annoyed or starting to get angry or grumpy, so she tries to calm herself down with slow breaths, but can lash out with subtle remarks at those around her.
Fears: Ash is afraid of getting lost. A traveler's worst fear is not knowing the way in an unfamiliar place. This is why she usually keeps a few maps in her saddle-bags, but the fear always nags her at the back of her head. " What if I took the wrong turn? What if I'm holding the map upside-down? What if the compass is broken?" Are thoughts that commonly go though Ash's head. Ash is also afraid that she might get confused with her knowledge of plants, for if she mistakes something as harmless as Blue Crocus with the horrid Poison Joke there could be severe consequences, and there are mix-ups that could end worse! Ash also has a small fear of bodies of water that are frozen, she is very cautious as she knows that there is a chance, however small it is, that the ice might break and you might fall in.
Overall Persona: Ash is stubborn. Unless you come up with a very good point to oppose her argument, she is going to defend it like her life depends on it. In the back of her head she might know that the other pony is right, but she sure won't admit it unless she has a good reason to, or if she runs out of ways to defend her argument.
