Spearmint's excitement didn't slow down as Storm Wind started speaking of the Everfree Forest, and her smile persisted through the mentions of the monsters, the evil magic, and the plants... oh, that was child's play.
The rest... oh, not so much.
The paler Pegasus seemed to pale that much more when told of the Cockatrice, and Manticores... never mind the mention of Ursa Majors and dragons, especially.
By the end of the explanation, though, Spearmint's smile had vanished... and she was left chuckling nervously at this whole endeavor. Yeah... yeah, the Everfree Forest seemed like it was just... just that much worse than the frozen north after all. But the prospect of traveling and seeing the sights of the Crystal Empire...! Maybe it was worth the danger after all! But she didn't want to impose... after all, Storm Wind had said so himself, the Everfree Forest was dangerous, and it wouldn't be like a race through Ponyville, or Cloudsdale... no, this was entirely different. But then something caught Spearmint off guard.
Storm Wind was actually asking her if she did want to go on that adventure. She had to blink once just to make sure she heard that correctly... but the smile on her face effectively ended that debate for her.
She waited until after he had finished talking before replying... the smile persisting. "An adventure to the Crystal Empire... Storm Wind, I have to admit, the whole thing sounds incredible... but can you do me a favor... and just cut out the warmer places from the travel? Warm weather really doesn't agree with me that much..." She admitted. Oh, she hated it when it was summer in Ponyville... weather in the south would be even worse...
But after a pause, she would notice Storm Wind's constant blushing and address it before long. "Storm Wind... just one thing before we get going... why are you blushing so much?" She asked with a chuckle.
Pausing again to look around, though, she had to admit one more thing. "Part of me is going to miss this place I call home so much, but it's part of travel."
And afterwards, she would only spread her wings, grinning softly and saying just a few simple words."So when do we leave?"
The rest... oh, not so much.
