The cool wind gently played with Scarlet's mane as she rested on the cool stone furnishings of the outdoor cafe.
It was a small establishment, tucked between two larger buildings that towered over it. The entire restaurant had owned only four tables. The two tables that resided within the walls of building were unlike the stone ones outside, as they were made of a thin chipboard.
It was the perfect place to observe Ponyville from. She had all the freedom an exhilaration of being in the centre of a bustling community, while also being safely tucked away in her own person box. She felt almost invisible as ponies wandered by. If it weren't for the persistence of the chilling breeze, she could have sworn she was observing the world through a crystal ball.
She gave a heavy sigh. The combined happy spirits of Ponyville's residence wasn't enough to lift her mood. Lots of trivial thoughts constantly played across her mind. They refused to remain silent, pestering her at every quiet moment. There was no direct reason for why she might feel this way. They were just little things. Her currently unsuccessful product line in Ponyville. Her... wait, no, that was it. Her unsuccessful product line in Ponyville. That was what was causing her so much unwarranted grief.
Friends. Friends, she was always told that they were the answer to all of Equestria's problems. And It's true, they were. While she had found some companionship in Ponyville, she often felt ponies drift away. Was it her? She didn't know. She resolved to trying to make friends again. It was all she could do. It was a generic plan, one she had used hundreds of times before, but it had never let her down.
She watched once more as mares and stallions, fillies and colts continued with their lives. Rushing from one shop to another, from one house to the other. Always busy. Always doing something. With a deep breath and a coat of slightly forced optimism she donned her cheapest smile and scanned the crowd for an interesting character.
