-General Stuff-
Name: Asteraceae
Nickname/Alias(es): Aster (preferred)
Race: Earth Pony
Gender: Female
Age: Young Mare
Additional Status: She wears a braided headband around her head to tame her bangs, although it does little to keep them out of her eyes.
-Physical Stuff-
Pelt Color: Aster's pelt is a mix between a sandy-brown and darker brown with a slightly reddish hue throughout. Her chest and belly are a cream white and her fetlocks/pasterns are of the darker brown, a color that is present in the tips of her ears as well.
Mane/Tail Color and Style: Aster's mane and tail are primarily maroon in color, but do have a gradient that lightens to a salmon like pink. Because her mane is so thick, Aster is fond of having it braided to prevent the unruly locks from getting too out of control and distracting her from her work; she doesn't braid her tail.
Eye Color: Salmon pink and golden yellow.
Cutie Mark: Her cutie mark consists of three flowers, one large and white, one medium and tan and the last, and smallest, the salmon pink that seems to be incorporated throughout her color scheme, all of these flowers have a golden yellow stigma and appear to be bunched together as if they were tied up in a bouquet.
Other Scars/Markings: ----
Physique: Aster is an average shaped pony, though she is beginning to develop a noticeable roundness to her abdomen and belly- something that she blames on the sweets she's grown quite fond of from the local bakery in Ponyville. As an Earth Pony she is relatively athletic and does take the time to exercise daily, but those sweets are far too tempting for her to resist.
-Social Stuff-
Current Residence: Ponyville
Job: Currently working at a flower stall in town, “She Loves Me Flowers”, but hopes to own her own shop one day.
Mother: Gypsy Rose (earth pony)
Father: Gale Hawk (pegasus)
Sibling(s): Sparrow Bunt (pegasus)

Mate: ----
Foal(s): ----
-Personality Stuff-
Likes: Aster enjoys flower arranging, gardening, listening to smooth jazz and/or classical music, bird watching, reading mystery novels, and striking up casual conversations. She loves her younger sister and her parents rather equally, though she holds a soft spot for her mother as she shares a similar talent to hers and was taught everything she knew about gardening through that wonderful mare. Because she grew up in a family with pegasi, she has also grown fond of watching winged ponies flit about in the sky, something she considers similar to bird watching and believes is the reason she picked up the hobby. As an earth pony, she favors nature and due to her talent, flowers in particular- although she has been known to dabble in the art of herb and edible food crops despite her lack of cooking ability. Being unable to cook herself, she loves sampling the cooking of others, sweets and treats in particular.
Dislikes: Aster dislikes weeds, parasprites, aphids, or really any sort of parasite/pest that could destroy her precious bushels, she isn't very fond of the winter-y season, for the more obvious reasons, and although she isn't a hateful pony, Aster has been known to show a bit of prejudice towards magic and certain Unicorns as she feels it to be unnatural in the face of nature and prefers the natural organic growth of plants and edible foods.
Motivation: Aster's primary motivation in life stems from her inherent talent in flower arranging. Due to this talent she has sought to open up her own flower shop in Ponyville and although she is far from this goal the smiling faces of the ponies she services with her arrangements and bouquets are motivation enough to keep her working towards said goal.
Strengths: Once again her learned strengths lie within her special talent. As a professional flower arranger, Aster has developed a keen eye for colors, shapes and organization. A relatively neat pony, she tends to her stall with an efficient hoof and a watchful eye and as a practiced horticulturalist, Aster can tell a healthy bloom from a sick one and can tend to most vegetative diseases, though she often seeks assistance for pesticides that she herself cannot create.
Weaknesses/Flaws: Aster lives for her stall, having left her home in Appleloosa to make a name for herself in Ponyville by starting such a business, if anything were to happen to her small budding business she would be beside herself with grief. Aside from her unyielding loyalty to her business, Aster is a relatively picky individual, having developed a bit of an aversion to magic, she will at times display prejudice towards those who use it. She has been made aware of the flaw on a constant occasion and has worked to break against and away from the mindset, but it does take time. As a side note, Aster lacks the ability to cook/bake anything beyond the occasional hayburger, and even then it's almost always over done; avoid her food at all costs.
Fears: Aster, like any pony in Equestria, is not without her irrational fears. Growing up, she was afraid of the usual things that fillies feared- The Headless Horse, Nightmare Moon, the Everfree forest- but as time went on she eventually grew out of these filly fears, although she did retain a small fear of The Headless Horse. Now, as a young mare, her fears are a bit more realistic. She fears for the success of her business, the health of her parents, the safety of her younger sister, whether or not her flowers will bloom in time to be harvested and whether or not she'll be able to connect with anypony on a friendly or romantic level. There isn't much else in her life that she would consider herself to be afraid of, though internally, as she'll never admit it, she does harbor a slight fear of magic.
Overall Persona: As a whole, Aster is gentle in nature. She is friendly and warm when greeting her customers, or any random somepony on the street, and is an average conversationalist unless a serious discussion is provoked, in which case she could probably prattle on for ages about whatever it is that has made her so passionate; that being said she will always make time to have a conversation, or even a simple chat about the weather, with anyone willing to listen. She tries not to be too over bearing in her willingness to talk, but there are times where even she has to know her own limits and tell herself 'now is not the best time'. A relatively peaceful pony it takes a lot to anger her, though she does have her moments; even after she has been made upset she most likely won't stay in that state for much longer than a few hours.
An organized individual, Aster attempts to run an efficient and tidy flower stall and hopes to someday run an even bigger flower shop, something that shows the ambitious side to her personality. Despite all of her average strengths, Aster is a rather prejudice individual when it comes to Unicorns who use their magic to artificially grow plants and food stuffs. This prejudice was placed in her growing up in Appleloosa where everything was built and grown with the hooves of Earth Ponies- upon departing from her hometown, she came to terms with this prejudice that she harbored and actively seeks to break herself from such a learned behavioral mindset.
History/Background: Aster was born and raised primarily in Appleloosa, and as such has inherited the drawl that comes with it. First born to Gypsy Rose and Gale Hawk, Asteraceae lived a relatively peaceful foalhood in the dusty streets of the ranch like town. Whenever her father would leave, whether it was to attend flight school as a teacher or to tend to the changes in weather, Aster would spend her spare time away from primary school with her mother. This was where she learned the basics of gardening and horticulture and also where she eventually discovered the path to her destiny. She earned her cutie mark as a young filly during the annual spring festival where she brought in a flowering bouquet for her teacher that amazed her fellow students and bloomed the cutie mark on her flank that is seen to this day.
When she was an older filly, her sister, Sparrow Bunt, was born into their family, balancing out the Earth Pony - Pegasi dynamics and creating for a well rounded herd. Although Aster was born an Earth Pony and her sister a Pegasi there was never competition between the two and they grew up to be rather close despite the age gap. As the years passed and Aster grew, she honed her talent to the point that she felt the need to leave home and pursue her own fortune- something her parents encouraged. She has been living in Ponyville for about two years now and has yet to reach her goal of owning her own flower shop, but she remains content with her stall and is comfortable in her living arrangements.
