Motivation: Strawberyl wants to someday be a royal cake decorator or baker, to be known throughout Equestria for her pastries. While this is rather ambitious, she believes it could be done, considering all her family really likes what she bakes, but she knows she might need another opinion. She also probably needs to make a shop as well.
Strengths: Strawberyl is a motherly and gentle type. While shy, once you get to know her, you could have a friend that will never ever leave you. She has loyalty and the right amount of ambition, and will probably bake things for anyone.
Weaknesses/Flaws: Strawberyl isn't the most athletic. While not chubby, she isn't that strong and mostly relies on magic to pick up things for her. Along with her weakness, she may seem antisocial at first. She usually stays at home without a lot of interaction. She's not too excitable and is dense and klutzy.
Fears: Strawberyl fears many things. Bad cakes, large ponies, critical reviews, the Everfree Forest, spiders... But perhaps her most dominant fear is the fear of being sad. Strawberyl enjoys making others happy, sadness is not something she pines to see. And while others being sad is horrible, she finds herself fearing that she might come down with sadness as well.
Overall Persona: Strawberyl seems rather mature and gentle at a first glace—a pretty face who shows it off well. Except, she is far more complex than that. Anxious about others, she has a hard time growing close bonds, but once she does, she becomes very attached. She is noticeably gentle in words and actions, and it respectful of the boundaries and wishes of others. She believes in the good of the ponies, and even if she is sometimes quick to feel threatened by them, she often doesn’t feel any hate for them. She is a pony that is willing to overlook the cracks in a relationship and continue putting the pieces together, believing that everything can be fixed time and time again. Despite her good nature, she can be quite distant and awkward at first, but slowly she comes out of her shell. She has a hard time expressing her opinions and tries her best not to offend others, so she holds it in unless she feels comfortable enough to say it aloud. Strawberyl is rather clingy, cautious and careful, but it’s easy to tell that she’ll always be the one to sacrifice her well being for anyone she meets.
However, despite her self-sacrificing attitude, Strawberyl is very antisocial. At first glance, she seems cold and hard to talk to, with an incessant stammer and a lack of speech. This mare does not often leave the eternal comfort of her home for socialization unless it is for groceries, and even so, she makes her trips limited in time. This trait makes Strawberyl's connections and friends limited, leaving her with mostly only her family to talk to and visit. But she seems fine with this, she enjoys the small, close circle she has built.
History/Background: Strawberyl grew up in Canterlot alongside her two sisters and both father and mother. Her family was a quaint one, a family of unicorns that seemed best fitted for the role of an earth pony. Her parents posh friends pushed them into enrolling their children into a magic school, and in a scramble to confine to normal Canterlot society, the children were sent to the school.
There, Strawberyl learned how to use her magic, like most of the ponies there. But unlike most, she and her sisters didn't enjoy the posh, fancy environment, her two older sisters wanting to roughhouse and run around, while Strawberyl pined to take up her parents fondness of baking. As Strawberyl came closer to getting her Cutie Mark, she dropped from Magic School and instead enlisted her parents to help her with baking. She had finally got her Cutie Mark and she couldn't have been more excited.
Her sisters grew increasingly jealous that their little sister had gotten her a Cutie Mark and they hadn't, but they decided not to act on this or say anything about it. Flowing with the wind, Strawberyl had quickly grown and took
a train to Pony Ville, wishing to connect with the more earth pony focused population. She now works as a baker and cake decorator, but she strives to get her own shop one day. She still has trouble explaining that she isn't related to to the Cake family and that the surname is simply common.
