-Personality Stuff-
Likes:
Tinker enjoys Metal Working, whether it be with inventions or just plain crafting. Books, any kind of book he can get his hooves on, he will read at least once. He is a fan of Long discussions, and tends to ramble on about his favorite subjects. As a quasi-merchant, Tinker has acquired a healthy respect for Bits, what makes the world go round. Intelligent ponies, of any trade, catch his interest. He will never pass up the opportunity to meet someone he deems knowledgeable.
Dislikes:
Ignorance is a pet peeve of his, and if one acts ignorant around him, he will let that pony know. Sports have never been a very popular thing with him. He thinks all sports celebrities are meat heads. Seeing others being made a fool of will, without doubt, cause him to jump into action in defense of this pony.
Motivation:
Tinker wishes to lead Equestria into an age of technology, one invention at a time. While he has met much resistance in tech, he still hopes that one day, his machines can bring about equality.
Strengths:
As a stallion with a sharp mind, Tinker has a equally quick wit, able to keep up with all but the most inside of conversations. He is also excellent with machines of many varieties. Give him a piece of hardware, and he'll likely have it running and upgraded by the end of the day. More complex machines, of course, take more time. Analytic to a fault, Tinker is able to memorize very minute details. Whether it be a strand of code or a strand of hair out of place, he will notice it. As a colt who deals with the most... colorful of ponies in Manehattan, Tinker has learned the art of Charm. Fall for his ruse, and he'll have his target thinking he's the greatest thing since sliced bread. See through it, though, and he is left flustered and somewhat dumbstruck.
Weaknesses/Flaws:
Despite his charm, isn't the best with social activity. Due to his constant indoor work, he is not quite as strong as the usual Earth Pony, nor is he as connected with nature. He tends to overthink some things and get wrapped up in details when panicked. He is also known for having a fiery temper, though it takes much to actually set him alight..
Fears:
Due to a foalhood trauma he'd rather not go into, Tinker fears Absolute Darkness. He cannot function without some form of light around him. The thought of losing what few friends he has scares him greatly, and he believes it a possibility, considering his personality. He fears that he will create a machine that will be beyond his power to control, and that it will go rouge and destroy that which he holds dear.
Overall Persona:
Having grown up in the industrial sector of Manehattan, Tinker Tock is a machinist and mechanic of a high order. He can be a bit cold to strangers, but will generally warm up quickly. He is quick minded and always has something to say. He's very work-centered, and tends to wrap himself into projects for long periods of time. This is because of his desire to bring the world into an age of technology the likes of which could bring total equality to those who cannot use magic. With this want in mind, he attempts to create machines that can emulate the effects of magic. So far, he has met with little success, much to his frustration. Since he needs funding for things like this, he spends much of his free time in his workshop, fixing minor machines for good coin. He is fond of using big words when he can, which his mate, a stargazer by the name of Lunar Glow, finds adorable. Due to his extended dealings with gold and silver, Tinker has slowly developed a liking for having spare coin, a trait which Lunar finds both good and annoying, depending on what kind of day they are having. He tends to stay aloof with his customers, unless they give him a challenge with the work. Then, he will become much more talkative. He is an attentive stallion, with a keen eye for details. Because of this, when he becomes panicked, his attention becomes hyperactive and leads him to become over-encumbered by these details. Overall, Tinker is likable, but not the best of ponies to be best buddies with.
