“Good afternoon. I don’t mind the accent... though that reminds me, my translator will probably wear off in the next 20 minutes...”
Oh ?
It was the reaction of Ashti and Sabreen at this claim. Ashti was surprised that Dream had a translator, until he assumed it was the potion he just drunk… explaining how he was able to understand the guard, when they met A'bek. Or do he has a really device? Sabreen for her part was interested to know what Dream meant by this and if he does use a translating device, she could be interested to see it.
At least, if she understood well. The translator device Sabreen normally use is a enchanted jewel she normally wear on her forehead. It wasn't made in Deerham, and she got this ring in her youth, when she travelled around the continent to form herself, along her teacher then previous Head-Librarian.
The translator was given to her by a fellow archaeologist, to help her in her travels and in her carrier. The translator converts her Deerhai thoughts to the language of her choice. It uses willpower to works. With it, she can be understood and she can understand others. The problem was that, for years, she relied so much on this translator that she barely studied other languages.
Fortunately, she decided to catch up and study neighbour language, as well as Equestrian… but the lack of equestrian speaker around didn't helped herself to improve. Even if for now she fluent in : Deerhai, tribal Allemahic, Sanskrit, Kalamat, Khameli, Cervidian and understand Equestrian in some degree.
The translating jewel, due to be rather flashy was used only casually, when Sabreen has to meet foreign scholars. And interpreter. And she didn't have it with her today…
But she was still charmed that her Equestrian guests don't mind her accent. And she bowed the head to them, while listening at Dream. And it really interested her… because… it remembered her a legend she heard once. She didn't know what a "Ibex" or means, but what Dream was saying was similar to a story a local in llamalaya/Bikohanstan.
The description gave by Dream was similar to the protagonist of this legend, with some details missing or minor change from the version she had in mind. Kyāparām was the hero's name. And Maharanku was the way to describe this kin.…
Is A'bek one of them? Sabreen thought it was just a local legend, but then A'bek gave further precision that intrigued her. Ashti, for his part, listened at conversation, impressed.
With what you said last time and now, Mister Thorns, I start to have a rather good view of the Ibex. I personally, Do not know if we have such "legend" here.
Hmm… Not ind Dyrhe'ā̃m, but I hav bînn tôldh a storiy abût al-"Maharanku"… entitiy sath similar ab'hilitiy. Legend from Bikohanstan... hm, nashion of Ilamalayah. Maharanku can bî transhla'dh as "bakri'el kabi'ir " and theiyr powâr as "Hayvanzeh de Prakŕti".
(Not in Deerham, but I have been told a story about the "maharanku"… entity with similar abilities. Legend from Llamaland… hm, nation of Illamalaya. Maharanku can be translated as "large goast" and their power as "the one who tame nature")
ah, I see.
Sabreen immediately looked at the nodding Ashti who looked nack to her… pondering. She was looking at him like if she expected something from the unicorn. For some seconds, until that the Ambassador figured out what she discreetly wanted.
Oh right. Huh… "bakri'el kabi'ir" means "Large goat" and " Hayvanzeh de Prakŕti" means literally "tamer of nature".
Then he looked back a Sabreen who nodded and politely thanked him with a bow.
Indîdh. I do not know if "druidishm" and "ibeks" is what al-legend repher'dh to, but eth sûnd veriy close of the one I hav bîn tôldh. I can tell eth to you. If you hav taim.
Shall I prepare drinks ^^
Immediatly, Ashti turned back to the new-coming voice of Arabesque who entered the room and went closer of the team, with a parchment. she then bowed the head to the Head-librian to greet her. before resuming. Speaking to Sabreen.
Ana faseja phairse eme tirşek, Anisa el-Malika Ket'abdêri. ^^
(I have finished restoring this parchment, Madam the Head-Librarian. ^^)
Aah, Tóv bargašt, Arşiviṣaka Arabesque. (aah, welcome back, Achivist Arabesque)
She then gave the parchment to Sabreen who thanked her with a nod. Then resumed.
