It was around sunset when many ponies started heading back in from different parts of Ponyville. From the west, Sun and Jazz were walking alongside Thunder Cracker and Stratosphere. From the east, Softspark and Mindlight were advancing in the same direction. And from the skies, Slipstream and Hummingbird were just descending from a recent trip to Cloudsdale with Midnight in tow.
Each of these nine ponies were informed by Dark Star that they would show up to her house during this time, for she had something very important to tell them. As a result, everyone felt something differently.
"So..." Sun started, "What do you think is going on?" he asked the group. He hadn't wanted to get them worrying over anything, but there was simply nothing else that he could really do. Jazz merely kept a straight face as he trotted, keeping his mind clear, and then responded.
"Just keep your nerves calm, my friends. I'm certain that she is perfectly fine" he told them coolly. Sun smiled at his boss kindly, always admiring how he could stay so collected when he himself was practically falling apart. Still, they'd need a lot more than that if they were to take the news kindly.
"Oh, please tell me she isn't moving or anything. I've come to love having her be one of my close friends" Softspark worriedly stated to her sister. She was practically trembling all over with each step that brought her closer towards Dark Star's home. "Oh, please tell me that she's just telling us something good about her" she added with a little struggled breath.
Back up in the sky, Slipstream was looking off towards the sunset while Hummingbird was at a loss for what to say. She had never been as close to Dark Star as the two pegasi surrounding her now, but she still felt for the black-and-red unicorn's well-being. She only needed a way to voice her feelings on it.
"So...How are you feeling, Midnight?" Hummingbird started, trying to get a conversation going as they started flying towards the town. The pop pegasus feigned a grin, trying to break the tension somehow. She glanced back at Slipstream from the corner of her eye and found her unusually quiet, worried by the looks of it. She hadn't seen this side of her since the STRS situation with Thunder Cracker a while back, and never thought she'd ever see that side of her again since.
