-Personality Stuff-
Likes:She is fond of calm environments, and beautiful landscapes. Finding large veins of gems, and showing off her findings. Cool, windy days are her favorite days, and it's a plus if there is a lot of clouds. Tranquil also seems to get a kick out of other ponies reaction to her mane, tail and hooves.
Dislikes:Hot temperatures, and anything that produces an excessive amount of heat. This also does include her forge. Tranquil gets uneasy in large groups for any extended period of time, and bright lights will have her shy away. Also, she tends to dislike her narcissistic brother, when he's being himself.
Motivation:To prove to her family that she is more than capable of one day taking control of their company. That, although she is not a unicorn, that does not effect her productivity in the least. She aims to be better than her brother, who may get the company by default. Although, seeing the satisfaction on her customer's faces is a plus, too.
Strengths:She is strong. Just as, or even more-so, than any male in her family. Her hooves are exceptionally hard, and that combined with the force behind her bucks and swings make for a powerful, rock destroying force. Yet she is also nimble with her hooves, able to cut gems as carefully as a unicorn's magic. As a positive to basically living in caves, she seems to have gained an uncanny sense of direction when underground, which has served her well over the years.
Weaknesses/Flaws: She can seem to be closed off from others, or even obsessive about her work. Which is not far from the truth- unless she's in her shop, she's likely in the mines. Due to this, she's not only uncomfortable with large groups- she has no idea how to behave in them. One-on-one interactions suit her best. Another 'weakness' persay is that she will not be out and about during the day due to her natural aversion to bright lights, so sometimes shopping for supplies, or even having her own store open, can be a hassle.
Fears:Failing herself, and her family. She tries so hard to prove herself, that thinking about her not getting the approval from her father can cause her to have extreme anxiety. Also, falling. Not heights, just falling. Not a fan.
Overall Persona:A first impression can label Tranquil as distant or disinterested, she shines through as a calm, fairly easy-going pony, once you get to know her. She's dedicated, for sure, but she is far from a mind reader, and anything you need from her, you do need to voice out. Work-wise, she considers custom orders to be a lovely challenge, and she doesn't mind selling flopped gems on bulk to dragons as food. Along with custom orders, she is absolutely willing to work with other businesses and customers. Selling raw or cut gems to them for their own projects isn't a problem at all. Overall she is known to be a polite, and very customer-first attitude in her store. She does try to maintain a very organized shop, and workplace, her actual living space is fairly cluttered, mostly for she never has quests over she needs to impress.
Tranquil is one of the few earth ponies to ever be born in a long line of unicorns. Supposedly it came from her grandmother on her dad's side. Due to this, she is always knowing she is at a disadvantage in her craft, regardless how much she verbally says otherwise. This makes her seem hardheaded and determined, yet it can be a sore subject if talked about for too long. If upset, she will typically sulk off to be alone for awhile. If she is not left alone at this point, her cool demeanor fails, and she is liable to verbally, and even physically, lash out. She will try to avoid this as much as possible, though, and will give plenty of warnings to her pest. This happens once in a blue moon, thankfully.
History/Background:
(As an OOC history tidbit- she was made quite awhile before the crystal ponies were released. As disappointed as I was that she wasn't as unique anymore, I did add it to her family and blood, if only to make her seem more plausible.)
As an earth pony born to a line of unicorn, Tranquil had a few difficulties keeping up with her more magic-inclined family. Not that she minded at first, but being the odd-one-out wasn't fun after awhile. Her brother, Brazen, was the main cause of this. For when he learned that, since he was a unicorn, he was more likely to get picked as the family company successor, he tended to bring it up a lot to Tranquil. Very often. Even when she ended up saving him from a cave-in, he tried to take the glory out of her saving his life. This is when she yearned to prove them wrong, that her species of pony did not matter in the long run- she was good at what she does, amazing even. She had asked her father for a trial, and he agreed. He gave her some of his land to work off of, and a shop in the little town of Ponyville, and sent her away. Now she is on her own, determined to make a point.
But her brother does goof around and visit her now and then, much to her dismay.
