Gearshift looked at the envelope that he held, his face stuck in a deep shade of red, and sighed. He didn't need to open the envelope, since the pony that had sent it to him had already told him that he was getting a special bonus.
Gearshift had finally finished with the crystal speakers and delivered them himself to the pony in Canterlot, who had them hung up and tried them. Luckily Gearshift had cleared up the earlier issues and the crystals gave rich tones for the music. The rich pony had shaken his hoof vigorously, and had handed Gearshift a large bag of bits as payment, but also taken him aside and handed him a small envelope.
"I know that this job has taken a lot of your time there lad, and has probably kept you from spending time with those that you care about. I mean, the pony that you have feelings for that is. Don't say anything lad, just take this. Its some papers that will get you into the Gilded Wheel, the most well kept restaurant in the city, and it will be completely on the house."
Gearshift had turned red at the mention of a pony that he had feelings for, and cleared his mind so that his face would return to normal. After trying to give it back multiple times, the pony had sternly demanded that Gear keep it, and thanked him again.
Now Gearshift sat at his workbench, staring at the envelope that scared him more than the volatile chemicals, dangerous machines, and the amount of magic that filled the air around him did. His thoughts turned again to using the papers, and thought about who to go with, and could only think of one pony. He gritted himself, and walked out into the main room of the Forge, and walked into the workshop that had been made for the other pony living there.
"Hey Powderkeg, you in here?"
