She is good at singing, dancing, and acting, and has lots of practice in school plays and talent shows, but since she's still young she needs more practice before she's good enough to be a professional. History/Background: Ruby Quartz was born in Manehattan. Her father, Luster Gold, was a well-liked jeweler and her mother, Midnight Star, was an actress. Her uncle, Golden Pipes, is a very well known singer/actor in Manehattan. Sapphire got the chance of a lifetime when she was offered a part in Golden Pipes' next musical film. They had to film on location, so Ruby and her father stayed home while the other two went into the mountains to film. One morning, when the crew came for Midnight they found her trailer in tatters and she was nowhere to be found. Naturally, the loss hit them all very hard. A rift grew between Ruby's father and uncle because Luster blames Golden Pipes for his wife's disappearance, but Ruby still loves them both very much and wishes her father would forgive his brother. Still, without Midnight, the father and daughter were eager for a change of scenery, so Luster Gold packed up his shop and moved from Downtown Manehattan to smalltown Ponyville.
