Likes: Plume loves reading, eating, drinking coffee and napping during her free time. She also loves rabbits and is saving money to adopt one.
Dislikes: she dislikes rainy days and being ignored and is usually seen trying to catch her friends' attention in a conversation.
Motivation: She aspires to become the most known fiction novel writer in all of Equestria! She wants ponies to read her stories with passion and sparkles in their little eyes. Although she seems to not want to have much contact with outside ponies, Plume dreams of finally facing her flaw and going out to meet someone new. She is still young, but wishes to meet a special somepony to have a foal with, which is another reason why she wishes to become less shy and anti-social as she thinks she is.
Strengths: Able to open up fully when she trusts a new friend, and listens to anypony's problems. Her strength is the creative thought that she can put into her writing, and how she can touch a particular age group, whether they are mares/stallions or fillies/colts. Plume is very good with younger fillies and colts, even foals, as she had done foalsitting in her teenage years to earn extra money when her novels weren't known enough to make a living out of it. With her gentle gaze, she can calm almost any crying foal, and can also make them stop what mess they could be doing, by simply giving them a scolding look.
Weaknesses/Flaws: She can be very shy and silent around new ponies, as well as clumsy and messy.. She is also a terrible athlete, cleaner and cook. Her main flaw is negligence. Plume tends to neglect her surroundings and friends when she finds a new novel idea to write, she can forget to clean her home, eat, or brush her mane. Even so, she does maintain her friendship with her 3 best friends, who understand her reasons, since they were her friend since they were little fillies. Not being a good cook, she also tends to burn any food she touches, since she usually neglects it when she goes back to writing drafts or singing randomly.
Fears: She is afraid of any reptile, but most noticeably snakes. When she was a young filly, she had escaped out of the eyes of her parents curiously, seeing a long stick slithering in the grass of their backyard. She had trotted towards it, then lowered herself like a predator into the grass, stalking the strange stick. Unknowingly, she had followed it into the Everfree Forest, and before she knew it, she had lost track of the stick and noticed her surroundings. Being a frail filly, she had almost right away cowered in fear from being lost in such a dark place. Plume heard a little rustle, and saw that her stick was actually a snake. She wasn't afraid of reptiles at the time, so she had approached it slowly, sniffling at it. The snake felt endangered and bit her nose, which made her squeal in fear and fall on her back. Plume had squealed for her mother's name, snake still clinging to her nose. She had been lucky the snake wasn't venomous, and after a bit the snake let her go, which made Plume scramble onto her hooves, and run away, now traumatized for life. She had been found by her father in the end, who took her home and scolded her a bit, before calming her and hugging her along with her mother.
Overall Persona: Mellow Plume is always slightly awkward when meeting new acquaintances, but once she opens up, she can tell them almost anything with ease. However, get too dedicated in her work, and neglect the things around her, such as she almost never cleans her house or forgets to brush her mane. Hence, she isn't good at cleaning or other daily tasks like cooking, as she always eats in a restaurant or takes home sandwiches and any other easy foods. Plume has never been a good athlete, she easily loses her breathe and can barely run a few meters without dropping to the ground, gasping for air. She can also act cold, ignorant or rash when she lacks sleep from writing or reading all night. Since she was a little filly, Plume was always scared of snakes. She also has mini panic attacks when she has writer's blocks, which can terrify a few ponies in the process. Plume's hobbies include writing and singing occasionally. She doesn't have any special talent in singing, but enjoys doing so while writing new stories. She usually explores the town to get inspiration for her many unfinished novels. If not, she loves hanging out with her friends and doing almost anything possible together, they usually enjoy hanging out in the forests and relaxing under the sun. Plume is a mare with no worries in the world except if it concerns her book deadlines and whether she cleaned up the leftover carrot in the corner of her room.
History/Background: Her mother Lemon Drop and father Paper Splash were both journalists, working at Manehatten at the local newspaper company. They have moved to Ponyville when Lemon was pregnant with Mellow Plume, deciding their daughter deserved a much more tranquil lifestyle than back in busy Manehatten. She was a small, fragile filly, with little confidence and courage to stand up for herself and/or others. She was lucky to have been in a nice small town, with a class of a dozen other colts and fillies. Plume was never one to come up to a filly and try to befriend her. Over her school years, she had made many friends in her class, as she loved being surrounded by them even if she preferred her own company most of the time. Most noticeably, her filly friends Pitter Patter, Cinnamon Twist and Flower Swirl are still her friends even today. Usually they would hang out at the park or in a shop eating away all the sweets they could. She had received her cutie mark after all of her friends, when she had joined the young colts and fillies writing contest and discovered her passion for writing. Years had past and Plume was old enough to live on her own. Her parents wanted to return to Manehatten since they missed their busy lives and decided to continue working and living there, sending occasional letters to the daughter they were so proud of. To this day she continues on working and living in Ponyville.
