-General Stuff-
Name: Buttermilk
Nickname/Alias(es): Milky is what her parents called her
Race: Unicorn
Gender: Female
Age: Teenager(ish)
Additional Status:She wears something akin to a coat or a skirt most of the time, usually covering her hind quarters.
-Physical Stuff-
Pelt Color: White with cream colored blotches here and there.
Mane/Tail Color and Style: Her mane and tail are a sort of honey brown, and thick, rather curly. Both are kept modestly short – her mane especially, it tends to curl up and get in her eyes if she isn't careful. It gets frizzy at the ends when long and tangles easily.
Eye Color: A soft sky blue color.
Cutie Mark: She does not actually have one yet, much to her chagrin and shame. Buttermilk thinks there might be something wrong with her that she hasn't figured out what her special talent is by this point in her life – her lack of a cutie mark is of interest to her. (I do intend her to eventually get one)
Other Scars/Markings: Creamy and light yellow patches of fur on her main pelt, as mentioned previously under pelt.
Physique: Chubby.
-Social Stuff-
Current Residence: She lives just outside of Fillydelphia, but plans to move closer and is looking for a new home.
Job: Unemployed/Odd Jobs – she's skilled in a few different ways and places but hasn't found her true calling yet.
Mother: Buttercream (she's up for adoption so I'm leaving this mostly blank)
Father: Tongue Twister – a linguist who spends a lot of time traveling. (He's also up for adoption)
Sibling(s): She might have siblings but they're likely a good deal older and long since off on their own.
Other Family: Unknown
Closest Friends: N/A
Courting/Courted By: N/A
Mate: N/A
Foal(s): N/A
-Personality Stuff-
Likes: For activities, Buttermilk likes drawing, and she enjoys dancing and singing, though she's not particularly good at either. She used to love reading but she's gotten lazy at it. She adores window shopping, and just likes clothes in general – usually because she just loves colors. She likes very energetic music, but can appreciate other types, provided they aren't too oppressive. Milky's fond of sunshine, but also rain, soft breezes, and large gusts of wind. She enjoys lounging about, and talking to others.
Dislikes: Large crowds – she loves to talk and socialize but gets self conscious. She's not very into oppressively loud or angry music, even if she likes a lot of energy in things. She's uncomfortable with unfamiliar settings or things she hasn't done much. Buttermilk is terrified of heights and enclosed spaces – she's utterly afraid she'll get stuck. She also doesn't particularly enjoy “unsturdy” furnishings because she's afraid she'll break them.
Motivation: Buttermilk's greatest motivation, as far as she knows, is to finally find some direction in her life. She considers herself “uselessly talented” in some things, but nothing significantly enough to lead her towards her cutie mark or a proper future. Buttermilk is at a point where she feels she SHOULD have figured herself out long ago, but has no reason to actually have done so. She doesn't know for sure what she wants or likes enough and needs to get some self-confidence and maturity.
Strengths: She's very loyal and open-minded, willing to listen to others and try to help them. Buttermilk's a creative individual, so she can easily get given a bit and just go off into huge ideas for things till she runs out of steam. Milky is good at both creative, artistic things, but also logical things like math. She's very smart and loves sharing that knowledge with others. Buttermilk is particularly skilled at stuff she sets her mind to and loves, like her drawing or things like math, or creative projects.
Weaknesses/Flaws: Milky's a little overeager, and emotionally needy, but under-ambitious. She gets too loud easily, she's rather clumsy and forgets things pretty steadily. It can be little things she forgets like how to spell a name, all the way up to forgetting what she did with something important like her keys or that she's supposed to preheat before cooking. She's also rather lazy, and a tad flighty – while creative and very skilled with things, Buttermilk will completely drop projects or get distracted from them if not kept in line.
Fears: Heights, tight spaces, large crowds, ponies disliking her, breaking furniture, messing up other ponies's belongings, bugs, fish, sometimes birds.
Overall Persona: Buttermilk is essentially a good and creative pony who was blessed with a variety of useable skills and interests, but not with the ambition or confidence to do a damn thing with a bunch of those things. She's eager and energetic and loves ponies, but she's also scared of them. She's completely directionless and desperately wants to find that but can't bring herself to really seek out things or settle on one thing she likes, and has no idea how to figure it out. Milky is someone who is stuck between feeling she has too many options in life and not enough, and lets herself become so overwhelmed by the possibilities or confusion that she shuts down rather than trying to solve the problem.
As a creative individual, Buttermilk is open, and eager and she loves to get into projects and activities. She puts her all into things she gets into and tries to really get things going with others. But she's also severely reliant on them – she likes attention, and praise and having everyone's good opinion, but when she can't get it or loses ideas for a project, it suddenly becomes the hardest thing in the world for her. She's easily inspired, but also easily distracted, so new projects are definitely appealing.
Overall, Milky's the kind of pony who needs to do some growing up and learning about what the world is, before she can quite function in it. Till then she's sort of fumbling around and a bit of a mess. But still, she's a happy and generally positive person who loves others and loves life and learning, and she's sure she'll make it through to be a good adult, it is just gonna take some work.
History/Background: Born to modestly well off parents, Milky spent her foalhood mainly just exploring different interests. Things her parents liked, things her friends or neighbors liked, just learning all sorts of things she was good at. Her skills in different areas made her a well-rounded young filly, but didn't actually help her find her special talent in the world. While this was acceptable for a foal, it didn't really help when she started maturing past the point where it was socially acceptable to be a blank flank, and she still hadn't found what she was good at.
Recently, Buttermilk's father has gone back to traveling around the world to use his linguistic skills, and her mother has sometimes gone with him or gone to seek out her own interests again. Buttermilk is on her own and not completely positive what she's meant to be DOING now, so she's starting to look into odd jobs and just finding a place to live and work so she can finally figure herself out now that she's on her own.
((oooh I hope I did this right.))
