-Personality Stuff-
Likes: Shawnie is a huge fan of music of all kinds, but her favourite genre of music - despite her young age - would have to be indie music. Possibly some indie rock in there, too. The filly would probably prefer listening to old music rather than new, and also feels this way about movies, which is a rather odd trait considering her age. Whilst Shawnie doesn't care all that much for outward appearance, as she is quite the tomboy, she does like her neckerchief and leg warmer very much, and you'd often find her walking about the town wearing them. Yes, they get washed, silly! One more thing that she likes is street art, not that you see much of it around Ponyville. Shawnie'd love to become a street artist one day, and sometimes practices with her spray paints in her house!
Dislikes: Overly colourful things - especially when the colours go awfully together - really seems to bug Shawnie, as she'll stare at said things and grimace. When this happens, she'll usually want to intervene and colour over whatever it is in colours that properly match. Now, as I said before, Shawnie likes old indie-type music. Even more surprising for her age, she doesn't really like pop all that much, finding it a complete ear-sore that has no meanings beyond some pony chasing another for their affections. Quite the judgemental outlook on it, I know, but she will listen to it occasionally, although her opinion on the genre still hasn't changed.
Motivation: Music and art is Shawnie's calling. To go into specifics, she still has dreams in the back of her mind about becoming a spray paint artist, and playing guitar is also one of her many pass times when she's not out 'n' about in Ponyville. Along with playing the guitar, the filly also owns a ukelele, and sings along to songs, often trying to craft her own lyrics from things that she sees or has heard about that particular day. Another motivation is to go out and meet others, as interaction is what songs sprout from. Not only that, but having friends means she'll also have plenty of memories.
Strengths: Shawnie is charismatic, quirky, funny and intelligent, usually saying things that you wouldn't expect of someone so young. The filly has quite a casual way of making people smile, not deliberately bursting into jokes, but rather humourous things just seem to spill naturally from her mouth. Needless to say, she has quite a dry humour. Shawnie doesn't particularly care what people think of her, as most her age find her to be 'odd' or 'different' - she's far from oblivious to this, however. She usually speaks with such a sense of casualness that even she can make odd things sound completely normal (that said, she doesn't find anything that other ponies think is weird - well - weird). She doesn't really care what people think of her, usually wittily saying something back when somebody makes a joke about her. Because of this, she is also known to say things without thinking them through. Although this sounds like quite a bad trait, with Shawnie it's quite the opposite. Something funny or witty usually rolls of the tongue without her even having to think about it. Basically, she rarely says mean things, and even if she's mad she'll confront you in quite a controlled manner. With Shawnie, her quirkiness can either draw you in, or you're just too afraid to try and resort to going with the flow - or, let's say, whatever the crowd is doing. The filly is more a 'go with her own flow' kinda pony, and she's cool with that.
Weaknesses/Flaws: Due to her being quite mature and knowing things that exceed her age, she's quite rebellious when it comes to limits on something, feeling that people need a good amount of freedom with whatever they're doing. She's also quite sarcastic in that casual kind of way, once again contributing to her dry humour. This can be a good thing, but others can see her as mean because of this. Not that she's deliberately trying, of course. If she's angry at you - she's only ever angry if she has good reason for it - some quite sharp and quick things will roll off her tongue, and although she's simply making her point, some of the things she says will make others think she's mean. If you're really a friend of hers then you'll forgive her eventually, and she will too, as she dislikes holding grudges for a long amount of time.
Fears: Spiders are a big fear of hers, and she won't ever get close to one once she's spotted it. This fear became apparent when her room became infested with the bugs when she was younger, and it has seemingly left a scar on her outlook on them, along with making her wary of most creepy crawlies; especially if they're from the Everfree Forest! Blue icing she generally dislikes because of the taste. That and she's not too fond of the colour blue. Although she has no other specific fears, she sometimes has nightmares about falling down a dark and never ending hole in the ground. In fact, she's had this dream many times before. Every time various details change - such as the location where the hole is - but it still frightens her nonetheless.
Overall Persona: Shawnie is the quirky kind that takes life at her own pace, and conquers things in her own unique way. Conformity will never affect this filly as she's a completely free spirited pony. Quick to defend what she loves and loves doing, if you insult something she likes or generally anger her - which, as I've stated before is a task in itself - she'll be quick to return the favour. She acts quite tough - but not forcefully - although clearly has a softer side which comes out when she's with people who get her. Having a snarky ironic sense of humour, she does love other ponies company, although prefers having a smaller group of friends and not loads who she hardly knows. Shawnie's a big believer that friends will love you no matter what, so she's not afraid to just be herself and laugh at those who thinks she's strange or openly express that they dislike her. I mean, who needs them? If they dislike her, they can stay out of her way, but she's not about to change for anybody. Whilst she's quick witted and smart, she doesn't show off about this, and is overall very casual, even when making a joke about something, which usually tends to make it funnier.
When Shawnie runs into a problem, she'll tackle it head-first, but not before assessing the situation and finding her response to it. In tough situations, she's usually disconcertingly composed and calm, and usually has no big worries; almost knowing from the start that everything will be well again soon. Although she's smart - and knows this - she's probably not as intelligent and capable at handling situations as she thinks she is. When you're younger, you see things in a different way to everyone else, and usually believe you know the world better than people who're older than you; this often leads her to believe that she can handle any unintended consequences of her actions skillfully and easily, when actually she sometimes needs assistance with things. However, she'd often never ask for any kind of help, not because she believes she can go everything alone, simply because it never crosses her mind. If you offer your support on something, she'll happily say yes, but don't expect her to ask for it.
History/Background: Shawnie was born in Ponyville, and is here to stay for now, although dreams of travelling around when she's older have been poking at the back of her mind for some time, especially because she reads many books set in exotic places. The filly never really mentions her family or her backstory, as she believes she hardly has one just yet.
