-Personality Stuff-
Likes: Innovations, speed, long waits, creative inspiration, bravery
Dislikes: Strong coffee, loud music, smudged windows, slamming doors, low class events
Motivation: Teaflower lives to bring refined calm to someone’s day. Even though she lives in the busy city of Manehattan, she hopes that her dignified teashop can bring a moments people to somepony’s life, as well as her own. The process of making tea is very relaxing.
Strengths: Gentleness; she treats anypony kindly and softly, trying to compassionately understand them, even if they do possess any of her pet peeves. She is slow-tempered; it takes quite a long time before she blows her top. She is very polite; her manners are as dignified as is expected of a semi-high class pony.
Weaknesses/Flaws: She is cowardly; if someone is pushing her around, or somepony is doing something they’re not supposed to, she is afraid to act if she suspects that she may be hurt. She is sensitive; if somepony speaks badly of her, her entire day is ruined, as she obsesses over that one comment. She is gullible; she trusts any and every pony, and in Manehattan that is how one’s business is ruined.
Fears:
1. Having chaos disrupt her orderliness. If something out of her control goes wrong, such as her precious possessions being mishandled, her private tea-making room being invaded, her space being destroyed or any other event that she cannot account for in her regular day, she will become more and more frantic.
2. Supernatural myths, or ghost stories. She can become very superstitious, and so she avoids haunted sightings, scary stories, and closes up shop on Nightmare Night. Her fear of the unnatural is probably caused by her fear of chaos.
3. When she was younger, a particularly nasty young filly had managed to mutilate Teaflower’s hair into a ragged, badly-dyed mess. Even though the physical effects had long since been reversed, Teaflower is still not comfortable with strange ponies touching her mane or tail.
Overall Persona:
Teaflower is content with being a background pony; she likes the calm, the quiet, and especially the soothing scent of tea leaves. She is a sweet, gentle pony who is soft-spoken and well-spoken. Her voice is a crackly alto, like dried and crushed tea leaves. She is a very good listener, and is very patient, too. She is attentive and observant, thoughtful enough to begin a conversation if the other pony is too nervous or at a loss. The topics she brings up are usually tea-related, but that’s simply her obsession.
Speaking of obsessions, Teaflower can be quite a downer if something bad happens. She will mope and weep for quite a while, unable to stop remembering the incident, unless she is distracted by something. She is also a bit of a control freak; although Teaflower has learned to let everyday things be as they may, her schedule is precise and kept to. Surprises are unwelcome and put her on edge, as even though she is creative enough to improvise, she is inflexible in her mind for anything unaccounted. The unknown terrifies her.
Teaflower is not a brave pony, which is why she particularly admires this trait in others. In fact, she enjoys many traits in ponies such as patience, kindness, generosity, and cleverness. Teaflower dislikes ponies who are constantly noisy, who don’t listen to others, or who talk down at others. But even towards ponies she dislikes, Teaflower does her best to get along because she hates conflict, between herself and among strangers. If she sees a fight, if there is little chance of her getting hurt, she will involve herself to bring reconciliation.
History/Background: Her family approves of her venture to open a tea shop, especially since it matches with the values they hold dear. Teaflower now lives by herself; she had decided on Manehattan because it was known as the “city of opportunity”.
