-Personality Stuff-
Likes: Snowflake enjoys several genres of music, particularly house, techno, drum and bass, glitchhop, and dubstep. She can often be found partaking in activities associated with her talent, or anything remotely related to winter, or frequenting popular social events and parties.
Dislikes: Snowflake dislikes classical music, her own cooking, ponies telling her her dreams are worthless, and those ponies that try to live as safely and risk-free as possible.
Motivation: Snowflake is motivated by her love of the feeling of adrenaline, and will seek out dangerous and risky activities in order to achieve a rush, and is not afraid to have other ponies share her experiences by bringing them along. She is also somewhat pushed forward in her career as a snowboarder to continue to spite her parents by doing what she loves more than what they want.
Strengths: Her hardiness in winter weather, general understanding of a few weather patterns in the mountains, making herself known in various parties. Her stubborn nature in the face of challenge, while not at all helped by her recklessness, allows her to face many dangerous situations without second thought, regardless of if she has a chance to succeed. Her winter job requires her to have a good proficiency in first aid, and thus it was one of the few things she actually buckled down to study to great effect. Oh yeah, and she is pretty good at snowboarding.
Weaknesses/Flaws: Snowflake is easily distracted by things that she enjoys, prone to slacking off in current tasks in order to enjoy other things. As a result, this makes her a procrastinator, resulting in things being left half-finished or of a lesser quality than they really should be.
She is also quite reckless, and a good multitude of her filly-hood injuries are a result of this. Her "try anything once" attitude has often left her in worse situations than when she started, at best a reprimanding, at worst a few broken bones. She is ashamed of none of her mistakes, and given the opportunity, she would rant for hours on how she broke nearly every single bone in her body at least once.
With that, we come to the fact that Snowflake likes to over-exaggerate, particularly for her own personal gain. After all, what harm is there in decreasing one's fastest record time by a second or two? Surely she's rounding in her favor. Five seconds? Eh, an approximation, she might be a little excited. She has learned to tone down her excitement while she is working with injured ponies in the mountains in order to stop them from panicking, but it doesn't stop her from misdiagnosing a sprained ankle for a broken one.
Terrible does not even begin to describe the quality of her home cooking. There is a reason her diet consists mostly of pre-packaged foods and other relatively "easy" things to cook. Don't call them easy around Snowflake though, she will find a way to botch it without trying. Burned hashbrowns, cement-like loaves of bread, over-cooked vegetables, under-cooked pastries, too much salt, and her own claim on several ruined sets of pots and pans. Rumour has it that she burnt her breakfast cereal when she mistook it for a bowl of oatmeal in a sleepy haze.
Fears:Rocks on snow covered slopes; she has had her fair share of encounters with them, and she has seen and heard from others just how lucky she has been. She is also afraid of losing her sponsors, as they are one of her biggest sources of income.
Overall Persona: Snowflake can be best described as an incredibly social character, having a 'keep calm and carry on' attitude with most problems that she is presented with. She is a very chill earth pony, at home high in the mountains and amongst her circle of friends. Reckless at heart and careless by nature, she is usually the one that will get everyone in trouble due to her actions. It doesn't take much to make friends with her and she will always make the best of any situation. Her lax and lazy demeanor stems from her more cultured upbringing; daddy made the mistake of trying to spoil her, and all it had succeeded in accomplishing was making her want seek out things that would normally be denied to her, and as a result, she hasn't had much of a reason to worry about many things that ponies usually worry about, such as big projects that are due in school, or what kind of impression one makes.
Everypony she meets is treated with the same casual attitude that she normally exhibits, and this has earned her both a likability from some ponies just for how flexible and forgiving she can be, while also resulting in her not being taken seriously by others. She cares not for the opinions of the later, she had become used to dealing with the skewed opinions of her parents about her, though it doesn't make her dislike those ponies indefinitely. She chooses to carry such an air of unprofessionalism around others simply because having a stiff upper lip is not at all entertaining to her.
History/Background: Snowflake was born into one of the more well off families in Trottingham, her father and mother both being successful business ponies. She was a little rebel as a filly, and a delinquent as she grew up, openly defying her parents and their vision of her becoming a well-mannered and perfect mare. Snowflake was enrolled in boarding school after boarding school, being expelled from a few of them and suspended many more times, as her drive for an adrenaline rush caused her to attempt many reckless stunts and activities that usually ended up with broken bones and a property damage bill.
Finally fed up with her un-ladylike actions, her parents gave her an ultimatum. Stay in school, or be booted from the house. Resentfully, she forced herself to calm down, and was able to make her grades and continue her education. That is until a family business trip to Stalliongrad changed all of that. Having no time to watch their daughter, they gave her some bits and told her to find some way to entertain herself. She did, with the first thing she saw that looked dangerous and fun. Outfitting herself with a rental board and an all day lift pass, she took to the mountains like a natural, and after a particularly risky stunt, she earned her cutie mark in snowboarding.
After that, and witnessing a few competitions over the coming years, Snowflake made it her goal to become the best in the competitive snowboarding world. This did not sit well with her parents at all when she confronted them about it. Once more they gave her an ultimatum. Stop this stupid sport and grow up, or leave.
At age twenty-three and a simple university degree to her name as well as her life savings, she left her parents.
What followed was a year of writing to various potential sponsors, hoping to be able to finally participate in a competition and make a name for herself as she worked at a mountain resort. Having no prior experience in competitions, she was turned down by every corporation, and was left to use what she saved up herself to pay the entry fee to what she hoped was her one big break. Making fifth place in a freestyle competition in what was hopefully the beginning of her long career, she was finally able to draw the attention of some sponsors as an up-and-coming rookie, who then began funding her trips to various other competitions. All this time now, she trains, she continues to become better. She now lives for her sport, and other various reckless activities that she enjoyed when she was younger, such as partying.
