-Personality Stuff-
Likes:
He loves the smell of dust and wind, the freedom of the open road, and grapes. He enjoys reading, playing video games, and has taken up writing his own stories as well. He absolutely adores raiding a fresh dungeon, mapping it out in his mind, finding every little nook and cranny, and eventually discovering the secret treasures within! He also enjoys telling tales to his friends. and keeping them in high spirits during adventures. He is always happy to see others happy.
Dislikes:
Light despises being told what to do, and has a serious issue with authority. He hates vegetables as well, and has taken extreme measures in the past to avoid eating them. He also dislikes anyone who would prey on those weaker than them, and will jump into a conflict to protect someone he barely knows if he believes they are being bullied or threatened. He's made many foes over the years in his profession, and dislikes them all. Light knows of his weaknesses as well, and hates it when others exploit them for their own purposes. He'll remember someone who stabs into his flaws and weak points, and will ensure they regret it in the future.
Motivation:
Light EXISTS to experience excitement and adventure. He lives to risk life and limb, to endanger himself in the deepest and oldest dungeons and castles in Equestria and beyond. However, his tomb raiding and dungeon delving has a deep, alternative motivation: he uses summoning magic, and is actively seeking out ancient creatures to learn how to call them forth. He also searches these tombs for more powerful magic, even if he cannot actually cast it himself, as he knows someone out there will be able to. Aside from these desires, he just wishes to live comfortably, and enjoy what life has to offer.
Strengths:
Light's greatest and most powerful strength is his magic. He is highly skilled at using summoning magic, despite having few summons to actually call his own. He excels at using magic that requires calculative thought, knowledge, and analysis to cast. He also prides himself on being able to outlast anypony, although this claim could easily be tested by earth ponies. Light also has a very quick mind, able to analyze and form strategies faster than most ponies can react. He also remembers many things most ponies would forget, such as minute details on a page or the full layout of a dungeon.
Weaknesses/Flaws:
Light's worst and most devastating weakness is also his magic. While he is a master summoner, Light has difficulty using spells that rely on focusing will on an object to create an effect. He simply cannot levitate items, a flaw that is actually a deeply rooted fear of his. He is also easily distracted. Light is also very cocky, and his arrogance can sometimes cause him to underestimate a situation. He is also somewhat naive, and offers trust to those who are nice to him a bit too quickly. He also has a phobia of reptiles, although this is one that he's working on overcoming.
Fears:
Light's inability to levitate objects is a deep fear, and he is terrified of being locked in a situation where such a thing would be required of him. He also has an innate fear of very deep water, thanks to a trap in one particular dungeon that nearly finished his career. Light is afraid of reptiles as well, but this is a phobia he has been working on overcoming for some time.
Magic:
Summoning - Light can summon forth the following entities after a moment of channeling energy into the proper runes and magic circles. When a creature is summoned by Light, it obeys a simple command given by the unicorn and then vanishes once the command is complete, or after a few minutes if the command takes too long to perform. It takes some time to cast a summoning spell, usually around ten to twenty seconds, and casting a summon spell will leave him tired. The exact level of fatigue and exhaustion depends on how much power he put into the spell, how quickly he cast it, and other factors, but generally every summon will leave him weak and out of breath, as if he had run across town without stopping or slowing. He cannot cast these spells in rapid succession without risking his own health, and the quickest he can cast them safely is once every twenty minutes or so. In addition, Light must have enough room to actually summon something. He can't summon something in a place that doesn't have room for them. The runes and circles used in summoning magic glow brightly, meaning that anyone around will know he's casting a spell if he chooses to do so. They will begin to spin after a few seconds of channeling power into them, after which the spell will draw power out of Light until it has enough to summon forth whatever it is they were created to summon. When a summon spell is cast, the elements around him will slide together into the form of the summon, and act out the command. When the command is complete, or after a few minutes if it takes too long, the summon will collapse into a pile of whatever it was made of. These commands MUST be simple, easy to understand tasks, such as "Protect me," "Go after that pony," or "Pick up that rock." Anything more complex can result in the summon not acting properly, or not acting at all. Light can only have one of these monsters active at a time, no matter what. He believes that as he grows stronger and more powerful, he can slowly overcome some of these limits, but has had no
Overall Persona:
"That cocky graverobber!" is a pretty good description of Light Starbrush. The unicorn has almost no qualms about doing anything, from raiding ancient graves to simply telling someone that dress is silly. He is brutally honest, although he isn't oblivious to the feelings of others. While he can be sometimes be arrogant and cruelly honest, he is also a devout believer that a friend is a divine gift, and will go to extreme lengths to protect those he considers friends... which is pretty much anyone who is nice to him. Light is outgoing and positive, sometimes even offensively so, and believes whole-heartedly that everything turns out for the best. He loves seeing others happy, and will make sure his friends are kept in good spirits during adventures. He can be seen as a bit naive, but should you cross him, you can be sure he'll remember it... and you won't see his vengeance coming until it's far too late.
History/Background: Light Starbrush was born in Canterlot to a historian and a magic teacher, both of who worked at the same university in the massive city. During his early life, he often found himself sitting in his mother's advanced classes, unknowingly learning how the most advanced spells in unicorn history worked. As he learned, the young pony found himself practicing things she taught while his parents were unawares, eventually learning to cast spells using what little information regarding physics and science he could. His first true spell was to create fire, which nearly burned his entire home down... but the little colt was only laughing happily at the flames that consumed his bed as the authorities dealt with the emergency. After being scolded by the fireponies that saved the day, he felt the first feeling of resentment towards "the law".
During his young years, he would be found exploring the mountains around Canterlot, delving into caves and chasms with reckless abandon, much to the disdain of his parents. His father, going out into the deserts for a dig, invited the young pony along for the ride. Eager for something new, Light accepted, and the archaeologist that was his father soon found himself feeling pride at his son digging into the desert, happily searching for something awesome to present to the officials that were funding it. However, this pride soon turned into concern and shock when Light discovered an ancient tablet deep underground. The tablet, hidden under the sands inside a sandstone crypt, contained the knowledge of calling forth a creature that could control light and energy, and the scientifically minded Light Starbrush found it very easy to cast the complex spell. By doing so, Light found himself face to face with his first summon, his Carbuncle. The little bunny/cat happily chirped at him, eager to be valued and adored for its power, and the colt was ecstatic to have found something amazing he could do. He'd never seen anyone else do this! He was doing something awesome! His dad would be so proud!
This influx of happiness brought on a revelation to the young colt, who now knew his calling. His cutie mark, representing his complex knowledge of magic, appeared with a flash of light, and he knew that he would have to find every summon spell he possibly could! He'd find all of them, make his dad proud by showing him the ancient magic, show his mom he could cast amazing spells, and impress the entire world with his power! As he emerged from the crypt, he found the funding party of the dig watching him, obviously impressed by the colt's discovery. They offered to fund any expedition Light's father wanted to perform, and it seemed his family was going to be happy from then on.
After a couple years, Light decided that it was time to cast off. With a happy farewell to his family, Light moved into a cottage his folks had out near Ponyville. From there, his adventures began, the colt delving into castles, dungeons, crypts and tombs, raiding them completely, selling the artifacts he considered useless but knew others would find great value in, but keeping some of the more unusual items he found... including two more tablets, granting him more summonable monsters. To this day, he is resting before his next grand adventure, preparing himself for the great quest that will lead him to his next ancient tablet... and his next strange friend from parts unknown...

- Golem - a collection of rocks and clay that make a big body. Light uses this monster to carry big things for him, such as large artifacts. Despite its size, it is ill-suited for anything other than manual labor due to its slowness.
- Blob - a mass of water that flows along the ground, rising up slightly to show it is a summon. Light normally has this monster carry him when he is completely exhausted, but will sometimes have it perform pranks by tripping others.
- Whirlwind - a tiny, pony shaped storm formed out of wind. This is Light's least used summon, as it has very few real uses beyond combat. He only uses this one in an actual fight, and only if he needs to totally blow the bad guys away. This spell has a distinct effect on him, leaving him out of breath for much longer than usual.
