-Personality Stuff-
Likes:
Painting-Splatter loves to paint, obviously, but most of her love for art comes from splatter painting. She loves to throw that paint against the canvas because it's her one way to escape the rest of the world. With her prim and proper sister constantly nagging her to come join her in Canterlot and the bills becoming larger and larger, Splatter's art is the easiest way to forget it all for a while.
Reading-Painting isn't the only art in her life; the young filly enjoys a good book every now and then. Quiet activities without much interaction with other ponies is really her kind of thing.
Taking walks in the park- Most ponies categorize Splatter as an indoorsy kind of filly, but she actually likes to go outside and smell the flowers. It provides inspiration for her in art.
Dancing-Only to herself, of course. It's a hidden hobby that she has never revealed, not even to her sister.
Spending time with ponies close to her-They're the only ponies she'll speak to.
Tea-Splatter's one and only favorite food.
Taking risks-Something Splatter likes to keep at a minimum, but enjoys the adrenaline rush.
Dislikes:
Her job-Splatter hates selling her art at the market. Since it's splatter paint, alot of ponies don't take the art seriously and more than often scoff at the poor pony who created them. Her dream is to display it at Canterlot's renowned art museums, where they'll be appreciated and not spat on.
Arrogant ponies-Any pony who views themself as the king or queen of the world; Splatter really can't take them.
Slobs-Although she doesn't want to appear like a neat freak, Splatter does like a certain level of cleanliness.
Heat-For whatever reason, she just prefers cold over warm.
Most social interactions-Due to her shyness, Splatter would love to avoid socializing with strangers altogether.
Animals-She never liked them because of bad experiences, and doubts that she ever will.
Motivation:Art. Splatter loves, even lives on, art. Hers or somepony else's, it doesn't matter. It calms her down and reassures her if there's something wrong. It lifts her spirits on rainy days. There's just something about it that keeps the young mare going and working towards her goal of getting her paintings in Canterlot's museums. If there's anything that drives her on through her life, it has to be her special talent.
Strengths:
Splatter painting-Well, duh. It's her cutie mark.
Determination-It's hard to make Splatter give up; she always believes there's another way out.
Intelligence-Her family was pretty rich and enrolled her in private schools. She's got to have some smarts from that, if not naturally.
Dependable-She'll never let you down if you ask her to do something.
Focused-Splatter has unbreaking focus when she gets caught up in something. It's both a blessing and a curse.
Modest-She'll never brag or show off, and would rather point out somepony else's achievements.
Independant-She hates to admit defeat and ask for help, even from close friends. She moved by herself to create a living in Ponyville.
Weaknesses/Flaws:
Shyness-It might be the one thing that holds her back from ever getting her artwork into Canterlot's museums. She's not a coward, but sometimes you need to be bold and bright to get your way.
Flying-Right from the start, Splatter was a pretty weak flyer. She can fly, just not that high or fast.
Perfectionism-Splatter is a true perfectionist; she'll improve anything if it can be. If she messes up just a teensy bit, she'll attempt to fix it right away. The only thing it doesn't apply to is her art, which is the one form of chaos in her life.
Over modest-Although modesty is a good trait to have, Splatter sometimes won't even recognize her strengths because she'll be too caught up in her weaknesses.
Focusing too hard-She'll completely ignore everything else until she's done.
Fears: Splatter's terrified that she'll never make it to her life's goal: getting her art into Canterlot's museums. It's not for the fame, but for the appreciation. Failure is what she's really afraid of, that she'll grow old and have never done anything significant.
Overall Persona: Splatter Paint is a young mare hoping to achieve her life's dream of getting her art into Canterlot's prestigious museums. Her life revolves around her splatter painting, which is symbolized in her cutie mark. The white-coated pony is relatively pretty, but has no idea about it and would never dream of saying anything about it. She can be overly modest and focused, and usually too shy to talk with strangers. Splatter hates to talk with any pony she doesn't know, and would rather do a quiet activity like reading or taking a walk in the park. She's very independent, having made a life for herself in Ponyville quite young, and determined to achieve her dream. To the suprise of many ponies, Splatter actually grew up with her weatlthy and prominent family in Canterlot. Being the only pegasus in a family of unicorns, she never fit in quite like her sister Blue Ribbon, and left the high life for the quiet Ponyville countryside. Splatter taught herself to fly as a filly, but never fully learned and prefers the ground over the sky.
History/Background: (short version) Splatter grew up in Canterlot with her sister Blue Ribbon; as a filly, she had never wanted to live in the high society and prefered a more quiet life. Since both her parents as well as her sister were unicorns (her grandmother was a pegasus), Splatter never received training on how to fly, and instead taught herself. This backfired, making Splatter's inability to fly very well the consequence. Splatter was always the odd one out in the family, being a pegasus, having a cutie mark having to do with art, and hating socialization. As soon as she was old enough to make a life of her own, the young pegasus moved straight to Ponyville and bought a small studio with her parents' money. Blue Ribbon stayed behind to live in high society. In Ponyville, Splatter quickly snatched up a job as an art seller in a booth at the market. To earn extra money, she started babysitting a young filly named Trill, but ended up befriending her and her father, Click-Clack.
