(This race and their heritage and back story were coined by me, so if you wish to make your own, I ask that you first please get my permission)
-General Stuff-
Name: A'bek Thorn (Pronounced Ah-bek, as one word)
Nickname/Alias(es): N/A
Race: Ibex Goat
Gender: Male
Age: 28
Additional Status: Being a member of the once thought lost Ibex species of Goat, A'bek is a magical being. In much the same way as ponies, the Ibex channel their magic through their horns, however their magical power comes from nature as opposed to friendship, harmony with the world is what drove the Ibex, as such its what gives them most of their power.
A'bek went one step above that, having trained in the druid practices to be further in tune with nature
(Size Comparison to a full grown stallion)
-Physical Stuff-

Physique: The Ibex were a large race. even compared to their other hircine brethren, the Ibex were just hefty. -Personality Stuff-
Likes:
Nature – From birth the ideals of nature are instilled into the Ibex, and it was no different for A'bek. Taught to both respect and love nature, A'bek took these ideals to heart, and finds a washing calm in being within places of great beauty or tranquility. He finds himself at one in places such as this, and can appreciate nature almost where ever he is.
Traveling - A'bek instinctively loves going places, always has and always will. Seeing new lands and learning about them and their history not only fascinates him, but gives him further insight into the world as we know it.
Food - Being a large fellow, A'bek has a large appetite and there is no better delight than sampling...well the delights of the world. Trying new and wonderful types of food is a perk to all the wandering he does, he often makes a note of what he eats and where if he likes it, so that he may come back some day and enjoy it once more.
Conversation - Meeting someone who shares your ideas, or even doesn't is always an interesting experience. Sharing ideas and debating about everything and anything can be a enlightening experience, and being of open mind, A'bek is always looking to expand his views with the views of others.
Dislikes:
Close minded folk - if there is one thing that A'bek cannot stand it is close mindedness. If someone has a misguided view, that's fine. However, when they are so cocky or arrogant to not consider other ideas as possible, that just infuriates A'bek.
Arson/vandalism - Believe it or not, construction and progress do not annoy A'bek. He fully understands the need for civilization to move forward, even his own people tore a few trees down in their time. However, when someone destroys something for no good reason, with no thought, natural or otherwise, that just annoys A'bek no end.
Coconut - Sounds odd and a little out of place for a Druid to not like every single fruit, but really A'bek just really doesn't like the taste of coconut, or the consistency..or the texture. No its pretty safe to say he doesn't like coconut.
Wannabe - Specifically A'bek dislikes those that claim to hold some sort of spiritual connection to the world or anything, when they are simply doing it to be pretentious or make themselves look better toward others. The reason that he dislikes this so much is the attitude of those he comes across, plus he hates it when they think they are some kind of kindred spirits to him. (pun intended)
Motivation: A'bek may be a nomad but this doesn't mean he is without purpose, far from it in fact. Day to day he travels and observes the nature of the world, and often writes about it. so far he has documented nature patterns of over 17 different counties, and 3 different continents. He hopes to one day get some academic recognition for his work, he wants the world to see the complex and intricate ways of nature, and the subtle ways that life effects it. Beyond that, A'bek simply wants to travel and see the world, its just a deep seated desire of his and will continue to follow it. If he were truly wishing for things, he might like to see his people again, but that's more of a pipe dream and frankly its kind of cool being the only member of a species, or at least only known member.
Strengths: A'bek's knowledge of nature is second to none, he is a walking encyclopedia of not only plant knowledge, but geography, weather and animal life and just about anything that falls under the categories of nature. Along with that are his magic powers, which are pretty darn good if he doesn't say so himself. Not specializing in simply nature magicks, he has a rudimentary understanding of some magical spells. Beyond that. A'bek is a amateur alchemist, being able to create mostly medical brews and concoctions for his travels, the amount of times he has needed to make anti venom is slightly embarrassing.
Along with his mental prowess, A'bek is a big strong male specimen, years of traveling and hiking have left him quite strong and full of stamina.
Weaknesses/Flaws: Despite his love of nature, A'bek can have a short temper at the worst of times. Once pressed, his buttons get stuck and he just gets annoyed. Along with that, he isn't the most coordinated guy around, he can often be tripped or knocked off balance and isn't the most agile of goats. While he does travel a lot and does indeed meet many interesting ponies, A'bek has a lack of experience when it comes to most modern technology, so he had trouble working some objects specifically anything electrical, he simply lacks the knowledge. A'bek is a firm believer in living one's destiny, and as such is usually a little reluctant to help a pony beyond advise or council, mainly as he thinks that its interfering in something that he shouldn't be brought into
Fears: While he might not openly show many fears, A'bek fears the loss of an affinity with nature in the modern world. With progress as fast paced as it is, he worries that maybe some will forget the importance of the world itself, but usually these fears are quelled with a few chats to some younger ponies.
Overall Persona: A'bek is an exceptionally down to earth goat, with a cool head on his shoulders he rarely ever cracks under pressure, but that is not to say that he can't be a bit goofy. Despite his heritage and indeed his traditions and beliefs, he is quite a modern sort of guy. He likes a laugh and he enjoys things like most anyone would, he does not give into the cliche that someone who wanders the lands for nature be serious and devoid of emotion. One of the warmest and friendliest guys you may ever meet and certainly leaves an impression, if not simply due to his stature. Always up for something new A'bek is a brilliant mix of old and new, and probably epitomizes some of the best features of both. This is not to say however he doesn't bring in some flaws of the past, a few of his ideas are outdated and he has yet to totally get used to some things. He continues from day to day though, eager to learn and see new things, all the while enjoying the things that he hopes may never change.
Being a friendly sort A'bek is usually willing to try and aid where he can, but usually only with wisdom. He dislikes getting involved in peoples issues and feels that they would be better off if they could solve the problem on their own. However when roped into situations, or when he feels that his destiny plays out with there's, or just when he feels he must, he will aid someone, albeit with a few jokes and hopefully no violence. He's quite level headed, rarely jumping to outlandish conclusions and often weighing things out before acting, of course he is prone to mistakes and tries not to dwell on them, mostly for his prides sake but also so that he can move on without being too guilty at what he has done.
History/Background: The Ibex were one of the greatest Goat civilizations there was, masters of the natural magicks and great sages. They were a rugged people, living close to the land but transcending the stereotypes of being simple or less than intelligent. No quite the opposite, they were great masters of many things, and legends of their homes still circulate in some Hircine cultures today. The most notable one being the jungle in the snow, an Ibex city that was said to have many temples and buildings of Aztec theme in a great jungle, surrounded and buried deep in the ice and snow of the north. They were truly a wondrous people, and their civilization lived before many. Sadly however legends and rumors are all that remain of the people. with some debating if they ever even existed. Much of the evidence is debatable, with carvings being the only thing depicting the race, and some state that it was more of a figure of a Hircine race, not a race of their own. A'bek however, is the final proof and truth of their existence, but really that's not saying much. He knows nothing of what happened to his people, and only knows of what he is. Despite having knowledge of their famous nature magic and being an Ibex druid himself, he still recalls nothing of what happened to his people or why they disappeared, however he still has fond memories of his childhood and time growing up which confounds him every day.
