-Personality Stuff-
Likes:
“Now, let’s see… It may sound cliché but I’m a bit of an old housemare. I like cooking and cleaning. It’s true. I especially enjoy cooking sweet foods and sharing them. I love when a foal shows me something he or she has made at school. I love getting good school reports on my children. I like the look on a foals face on hearth’s warming eve when they open their presents. I love relaxing summer days and picnics. I love to drink coffee and like a spiced foods. Of course, I just enjoy looking after foals in general.”
Dislikes:
“Hmm… Well, I’m not very fussy but… I don’t like seeing my children leave home. I don’t like telling foals off, though I’m not afraid to do it. I dislike spoilt children, or rather, their irresponsible parents. I don’t like rainy days. The falling of the leaves in autumn makes me sad. I hate bullies and other such menaces. I don’t really like hot, spicy food.”
Motivation:
“My motivation? Hmm, nopony’s ever asked me that before… I suppose I just want to raise my foals well and make sure that they, and other foal, have the best start in life, so that they can grow to be the best they can be.”
Strengths:
“Well, I suppose my most prominent state is that I’m very caring. It’s deeply embedded in my nature to help others. I’m quite good at reacting quickly to unusual situations. I adapt promptly and efficient reflexes. I can cook anything from home-baking to a three course meal for six, so long as I have a recipe to follow. I’m not easily embarrassed. I’m protective of my foals which can become a flaw. I’m always willing to help out with school and social events.
Weaknesses/Flaws:
“Hmm… Well, I suppose I can be a little condescending at times, but that’s what comes of spending all your time with foals. I don’t cope well with rejection and that can lead me to be over protective of my children. I suppose I’m not very ambitious and am quite happy where I am in life. I get jealous easily too, especially over my children. And… Maybe my conversation can be a bit dull sometimes as I only really know how to talk about foals. Oh, and I’m grumpy in the morning, haha!”
Fears:
“My biggest fear is for any hurt to come to my children. And I don’t mean falling out of a tree or scraping their legs in some brambles, I mean serious injury or worse… But I’m also afraid of snakes and thunderstorms.”
Overall Persona:
“That’s rather an awkward question to answer, pumpkin. But I’ll try. I’m a caring considerate mare who sees everypony as a pony to be look after. I don’t like hurting ponies’ feelings and do my best to avoid it. I can come off a little strong when talking about my children but I do my absolute best to see that they aren’t spoiled. I’m very creative and enjoy arts and crafts. I’m not exactly good at it, but I love gluing old milk bottles and egg cartons together and such. I believe I have very polite speech, I never swear, regardless of whose around. Similarly, my behaviour is always excellent. It may have made me seem boring when I was younger but these days, I’m thought of as responsible. I’m out going and friendly but rarely have the time to be. I often appear stressed but it’s pretty much become my standard emotion. In many ways, I enjoy stress. Anyway, what else? It takes me a long time to get very angry but when I do… well, you don’t want to be around when it happens. Despite this, I will snap at you if you are consistently annoying me, but I don’t hold grudges for much longer than ten minutes. Oh, and I suppose my other flaw, that my elder foals so frequently pull me up on, is that I have a variety of pet names that I use for everypony, regardless of their age. You, eh, may have noticed… heh heh.”
History/Background:
“Well, I've not exactly got an exciting back-story. Well, I was born in Ponyville and I've been here all my life. I was named after my leg and nose markings which caused me to look like I'd been playing in a bramble patch. I've never seen any big cities and only left Ponyville once to visit Appleloosa. I suppose the first major high point of my life was the gaining of my cutie mark. I got it quite late into foalhood, it being an unusual cutie mark for a filly. I was on my way home from school when I saw a pram rolling away down a gentle slope. I ran after and caught it, as it wasn't hard to stop. There was nopony around so I pushed it back up to the town. I stood there at the square, wondering what to do. The baby was still crying and I just took it in my hooves and calmed it down. It was a young colt and he was clearly missing his daddy. It wasn't long before a much older colt came trotting out of a shop and approached, claiming to be the foal’s big brother. He was much older than me, and clearly had been being very irresponsible. When I told him what happened, he didn't even seem upset. I gently put the baby back in the pram and then just lost it at him. I gave him a severe scolding, which must've looked silly coming from such a small filly. I then demanded to know where he lived and took the foal home myself. I think the mother was shocked but when I told her what happened she thanked me and invited me in for tea. While I was sitting on the floor playing with the baby, I noticed him pawing at my flank, I glanced round and there it was: my cutie mark.
Since then I've taken up many foal-sitting jobs to get through to my teenage years until my marriage. I then had my first foals and began to live as a housemare. Since then, I've continued happily, raising many foals and watching them grow up to be beautiful mares and dashing stallions.”
