First thing you need to do when creating a character is make yourself aware of 3 key pages.
The first page you'll wanna look at is the character rules page, this dictates what we do and do not allow when it comes to a character, these are important and need to be stuck to.
The next page you will need to look at is the acceptable races list, this basically tells you what you can and cannot be. These are non negotiable and for the time being are staying as is, the list may change depending on what happens in the show.
The final page and perhaps the most required is the template. This template is provided by the site so we can establish the vital information we need to know to be able to judge if your character is acceptable on the site. If you scroll down on this page, you will not only see that in each section there is an explanation of what should be put there, but if you scroll further, you will find the raw template code which you can simply copy and paste, for quick use. Please do this, as it will save me telling you when it comes to judging your app that you need to make headings bold, as the template code already provides the bold headings.
Once you have read all of the relevant material and you are ready to put words to template, here's what you do.
First: head on over to the OC Applications board.
Secondly: create a new thread in that board, and name the thread after your character.
Thirdly: paste the template code into the posting box, and begin filling it out. (Make sure you're not writing the entire thing in bold by cliking on the "BB code" and check that you are writing outside of the bold tags.
Finally: wait. Once your character is done and ready to be looked at, a mod will be along soon to have a look, there is no need to ask us to look, pester us, or anything, this will only make the process take longer, instead just wait, double check and make SURE your character is up to standards and is acceptable, think of rp ideas, and chat with people in the chatbox. The first step you make toward roleplaying on this site is not making a character, its making a good impression and being respectable and pleasant. I reccomend looking at other people's characters, seeing how you could improve yours. Don't say you're completely done until you sure you actually are.
I hope this has helped people understand and better know what to do when creating a character on the site. I look forward to seeing the many interesting characters you all come up with, thanks.
