It hadn't been long ago. Arionna Penumbra had left her home, wandering out into the world. It was not as fun as she thought, and she couldn't find shelter. A storm was coming soon, and she hadn't found anyplace to stay for the day.
Her vest-like shirt was stained and filthy, her brown hat was pulled over her eyes, and her saddlebags were starting to come off.
She looked around again for a bit, before finally finding a cave. She ran inside, her large, light brown wings spread out.
It seemed to be uninhabited, besides a few bats hanging upside down from the ceiling. And she didn't care much about them. There were a few streams of water dripping down from the caves jagged roof, but she steered clear of them.
Her saddlebags falling off, she started to look through them. After several minutes, she pulled out a ragged looking black blanket, and spread it on the caves hard stone floor.
"Après ......"
{Next...}
The storm had finally come. The rain was falling hard, and clouds were covering up the sky. It had gotten darker, even if it was just the middle of the day.
She moved deeper into the cave, startled when she trotted right into a stream of water, coming through a crack in the ceiling. Shivering, she backed up against the wall of the cave.
Suddenly remembering that her things were near the front, she galloped over, grabbing them, and moving back to where she was. She all of a sudden caught herself thinking.
Who were her parents? Did she have siblings? Who was she? The questions shot through the blank-flank's mind. Being a very forgetful pony, she wasn't quite sure about anything. She didn't even remember their faces all of a sudden. They had just bolted out of her mind.
