-General Stuff-
Name: Pennington Inkwell
Nickname/Alias(es): Inkwell, Inky, Penny (If you want to make him mad), and "Scorching Quill", his pen name.
Race: Unicorn
Gender: Male
Age: 20
Additional Status: Though he has never been tested, many of Pennington's long-time customers and fellow adventurers believe that he is either manic or simply bipolar.
-Physical Stuff-
Pelt Color: Night Blue
Mane/Tail Color and Style: His mane is about to his shoulders, and his a more faded shade of his pelt, with a few violet streaks. It usually flows down to his shoulders and is well-kept, but can become spiked and messy if he spends too long in his study, which is often the case.
Eye Color: Dark purplish-maroon. They often are dazed in a daydream, when he's thinking of his next book.
Cutie Mark: A quill on top of a compass.
Other Scars/Markings: None.
Physique: Thin, but a little taller than other stallions, Pennington is built more for lifting a quill and inkwell than weights. But, he prides himself on being stronger than he looks, having been toned and toughened by his adventurous vacations.
-Social Stuff-
Current Residence: His home is his business, Inkwell commissions. He spends most of his time either behind the desk, waiting for and taking orders, or in his study, which even has a bed to sleep in. His entire upstairs is filled with either supplies or the necessities of living, like food and a bathroom. His house is like his mind: it works for him, but would be near-inhospitable for any other pony. Inkwell Commissions sits on a small side street off of the main street in Ponyville.
Job: As a writer, Pennington takes commissions for ponies without any talents for oration or word crafting. He often is called upon by politicians, mayors, and has even been referenced a couple times by ponies wishing to remain anonymous. His busiest time of year is around Hearts and Hooves day, when desperate stallions from all around come to buy a poem or a card with his work printed inside.
Mother: None that I've come up with yet.
Father:Ditto.
Sibling(s):Ditto.
Other Family: Nope.
Closest Friends: Pennington hasn't had much time to make friends, but knows a few of his customers very well, and considers them his friends.

-Personality Stuff-
Likes: Writing. Pennington feels a need to write just as much as he needs to breathe and sleep. Eating is optional. However, Pennington will always be willing to drop what he's doing for an adventure. He enjoys following whatever big events are happening and relating back to those experiences in his writing. Once every few months, he will stop taking commissions for a week and go on some sort of adventure from climbing a mountain to a camping trip in the Everfree forest.
Dislikes: Attention. Pennington also lacks social skills, and finds that he is too busy for courting, choosing his work over a nice filly. Pennington HATES interruptions, and locks himself into his study with 3 deadbolts and a combination padlock on the inside.
Motivation: Adventure. Pennington wants the thrill of adventure, whether on a mountain peak or within his own imagination.
Strengths: He is very well-educated and an expert wordsmith. He is always up for a challenge and gives everything 100%
Weaknesses/Flaws: He unfortunately is also super-focused and can often become manic when he has an idea that he considers "Brilliant." His temper can become easily flared by an insult, and doesn't deal well with heckling and mockery. His tongue can be a bit sharp at times of irritation, and he often has to apologize once he's calmed down. Also, NEVER break into his study. He despises people who even try to peek through the keyhole, and has been known to banish ponies from his shop for doing so.
Fears: Not many. His greatest fear is the destruction of his work. He doesn't let any candles or fire into his shop, and uses glow-in-the-dark stones to light his study. He also fears the rejection of his work by publishers, but he has had to face this fear often. His most pressing fear, though, is the discovery of his second identity, "Scorching Quill."
Overall Persona: Pennington Inkwell is an overall kind pony, but a bit more of a hermit than he would like to admit. Pennington is reckless on an adventure, and manic in his work. His greatest secret, however, is that "Scorching Quill," the author of the "Daring Do" book series, will be exposed as just being a pony from Ponyville, sending his books in packages to publishers in Canterlot. He doesn't believe that he needs any friends, but only needs Daring Do by his side and his quill under the spell of his horn.
