-Personality Stuff-
Likes: First in her heart is her foal Rollin'. She loves to dance, play the fiddle, and sing. She also enjoys coming up with new combinations for shakes and soda floats. She even has a 'Challenge Night' where she serves the bravest patrons flavor combinations that are nasty. The winner gets a kiss and their picture on the Wall of Warriors. This helps show off her sense of humor. She's a pony person. Also, the color green.
Dislikes: She can't abide fights, cheaters, or rude patrons. She has enough heft to bounce them herself if they get unruly. She also dislikes when people laugh at or try to imitate her Gaelic accent. She's tried really hard to speak like everyone else in Ponyville, and she always thinks people are making fun of her. Also, 'Lucky Charms' or Leprechaun jokes. She'll bounce you for that. She has an intense dislike for Uncle Shame Us.
Motivation: To be a good mother and provide her colt with everything he could possibly want. Like most businessmares, she strives to succeed. She wants her business to thrive so she can keep doing what she loves as long as possible. She also wants to come up with the PERFECT green shake. Something everyone will enjoy. And maybe finding that special somepony down the road. Too busy now though!
Strengths: She's a people person. She is animated and friendly and patient. She is also compassionate, and like many barkeeps, she will act as an impromptu therapist and listens to people's problems, trying to solve them with folksy home-spun wisdom and a free shake. She has a real maternal instinct.
Weaknesses/Flaws: She is a bit hot tempered and can fly off the handle if she thinks someone is acting inappropriately, especially in her bar. She's also stubborn and has a hard time accepting help gracefully. She's also a bit overprotective of Rollin'.
Fears: Failure, snakes, and the little people. She also will not talk about Rollin's father.
Overall Persona: Emerald is a boisterous, vivacious pony who is usually very upbeat and friendly. She has a big heart and enough love for everyone who visits her, and is genuinely concerned when people show up sad or upset. She has deep belief in the traditions and lore of her homeland, and of the Fair Folk themselves. She could even be considered a little 'witchy', using small helpful spells to keep her bar successful and herself and her patrons happy and successful. Probably just her strong unicorn roots. But her temper can be as fiery as he hair when provoked, but...quick to anger, quick to forgive. A mare's got to make a living after all.
She can be overprotective of Rollin', but she tries not to be overbearing like her own mother. She is very loving toward him, and wants him to learn how to stand on his own four hooves. She lets him help out at the bar, but won't stand for any shenanigans. She doesn't like talking about her past, avoiding the topic whenever possible. She will Not tolerate any questions about Rollin's father, reacting coldly and suspicious to anyone seeking answers. Those two topics aside, she loves to tell stories of her family, her homeland, the fair folk, tall tales and legends, and of course, embarrassing stories about Rollin'.
