Overall Persona: Violet grew up in Manehatten with her father. She doesn't even remember her mother, as she left nearly right after Violet was born, and there were no pictures or stories told of her in the house.
Her father had to work often in order to support himself and his daughter, so Violet was often alone. In the times that she didn't have any friends, she would throw herself into playing with her imaginary friends. Her imaginary friends would one day translate into characters in stories she would write.
She was ridiculed often at school for her writing, since that was the only reason she even knew how to use her unicorn horn (to pick up her quill and write.) To this day she knows next to no real spells, other than what is necessary for writing. She began to just ignore the students, and by extension the teachers, and by more extension the lessons so she fell behind in her schoolwork quickly.
It didn't matter to her though, she was writing.
She moved out of her father's house at first chance, to get away from her classmates and into a small apartment on the other side of Manehatten. It was there that she got her first fiction book published. She didn't make a lot of money from it, but enough to completely move clear out of the city and to Ponyville, a place she had heard was a lot quieter and a lot less arrogant and judgmental than the big city.
