Pelt Color: Maltese’s pelt is a dark silver color, but slowly lightens to white just above his hooves.
Mane/Tail Color and Style: His mane is white, unkept, and goes down to his eyebrows. Maltese’s equally white tail is long and straightened, reaching half way down his back legs before stopping.
Eye Color: Maltese’s right eye is a bright blue, while his left eye is a lime green color.
Cutie Mark: A set of scales set under a magnifying glass.
Other Scars/Markings: Maltese wears a black fedora with a black side band, whose brim has a small cut in it about an eighth of an inch wide and an inch long.
Physique: Maltese is a toned, healthy, average sized unicorn. His horn is long, sharp, and is an inky black color, which clashes with the rest of his figure.

Dislikes: Leaving a job unfinished, Criminals, Crying, Easy puzzles, the rain, the royal guards ("They're always getting in my way!").
Motivation: To solve life’s mysteries and fight crime to make Equestria a safer, happier place to live.
Strengths: Maltese is very attentive to detail, and can read a pony’s emotions by analyzing their gestures and facial movements. Maltese also uses magic in his investigations to find hoof prints, teleport out of harms way, or create a magic lens that magnifies on an object. Also, aside from his intelligence, Maltese will do anything in his power to see a case to it’s end, no matter how dangerous it may be. Lastly, Maltese is very optimistic, and always sees a bright side to every situation.
Weaknesses/Flaws: He’s somewhat awkward with how he performs his cases, moving at his own pace and taking things slowly. He is also very much a loner, treating everyone as a suspect until he can prove for certain that they had no involvement in the crime. Also, Maltese will not make assumptions, which leads to him appearing to be somewhat dense in some cases.
Fears: Accidentally proving that a pony committed a crime that they did not commit, being betrayed, failure, and the dark.
Overall Persona: Maltese is a workaholic unicorn who cares very much for his job, which in his mind puts smiles on the client’s muzzles and lets them continue with their life happily. He isn’t above doing remedial tasks, like finding lost animals or helping cats out of trees, but he won’t ever accept help. He is methodical, attentive to detail, and overall a great detective, but he has trouble trusting other ponies when they are involved in a case, and his quirky methods and behavior tend to put most ponies off. He is a master of only the magic he needs, which can’t really be used outside of his work, out side of his teleportation spell, and even then, teleporting takes a lot out of Maltese, so he rarely does it. Outside of work, Maltese is a little quirky, but he’s really friendly, and completely different from how he is at work.
