Crash nodded to the short story then grabbed the headphones with her good wing. She shuffled back under the covers then listened to a couple songs. After a while, she slowly fell asleep.

A few hours later, Crash woke up. She opened her eyes to reveal the darkness under the covers. She pulled the covers off her head then took the headphones off. Then she looked around the dark room to see the doctor looking at some pictures. She blinked to get her eyes adjusted to the sudden light that hit her in the face. Crash tilted her head.

"Hey Doc? Um, whatcha doin' here?" Crash asked, hoping her mane wasn't looking awful.

"Looking at your new x-rays."

"New ones? You took more when I was asleep?" She asked totally confused.

"Yep!"

"Um, why though? I thought you already had some."

"Yes, but we need to inform to the others that you have broke your wing. Also, good thing you woke up! Breakfast is almost served!" the doctor said smiling. He then left the room.

"Wait! What's for break-"

"Hello Ms. Crash!" a nurse interrupted. She walked in with a tray of food.

"Oh, what is it?" Crash asked, looking at the colorful arrays of different food. The nurse smiled then threw the food onto the bed.

"Oh you know, hospital food," she said with a small grin. She then trotted out leaving, the door open.

 Crash frowned, looking at the gloopy food. Crash made a fake gagging sound then poked the food with her hoof. She then sighed and ate the food without looking at it. She put the empty tray on the end of the bed. She then noticed Slide wasn't in the room anymore.

"Where the hay did Slide go?" she asked aloud, looking around.

Slide was inside the house petting Duck who was sitting next to him on the couch. Reading the morning newspaper, Slide was having a delicious egg and cheese omelet. "I had to leave the hospital Duck. They can't allow visitors overnight."  Duck barked back at him. "I know. I'm just worried about her right now. With a broken wing and the competition being held today, she is very upset," Slide replied. He was indeed worried about Crash. If only he could do something for her. Slide gasped. "That's it! I should go visit her again and sing her a song! Oh she will love this one!" Slide rushed over to the door. "Duck, I'll be right back. I need to go see how my marefriend is coming along. Bye!" Duck barked as Slide closed the door behind him. Launching into the air, Slide flapped his wings as he flew towards the hospital in Canterlot.

30 minutes later.

Slide touched down in front of the hospital doors exhausted and out of breath. "Whew! I should have preened my wings last night," he thought as he folded his wings and opened the door. Trotting into the waiting room, he saw a receptionist at the desk. Slide went over to her. "Excuse me. But I'm here to see my marefriend. Crash Course?" The receptionist looked at Slide. Then nodded. She told him what room Crash was in. "Thank you mam. Have a nice day!" Slide replied as he trotted away from the waiting room.

Making his way down the hallway, he found the correct room. Opening the door carefully, Slide noticed Crash looking at the ceiling, tired and a little sleepy. "Good morning Crash. How are you? Sorry if I didn't bring you anything." He sat down onto the visitor chair. "Now I know you feel upset about your wing, but I'm here to make you feel better. Here's a song for you. I hope you enjoy." Slide hummed the first note and began to sing.

Slide finished the song impressively and sat back down on the chair. "You see Crash. I will always love you. No matter how far apart we are. I still love you Crash Course." Slide got up and kissed Crash on the forehead. He went back over to the chair and sat back down. He opened up the newspaper and began to read the news articles, scanning over each one to see which one was the best to read.
