-Personality Stuff-
Likes: Natural beauty is of great importance to Blue, some of his favorite sights being the Autumn forest, the ocean, and the night sky. Silence leaves him to think, and thinking is an enjoyable pastime for him. He likes a good day's work, one that he can visually reflect on and see the progress made. Finally, he enjoys singing in the privacy of his own criticism, despite the fact that he's been complimented on it when caught off-guard.
Dislikes: To disturb Blue when he's delved into his imagination or singing usually rubs him the wrong way, and to see somepony perfectly capable of work when they choose to do nothing does the same. He prefers to remain in the background of society, and too much attention makes him shut down.
Motivation: He wants to make enough bits to leave Seafoam with a decent share, while still traveling to Canterlot to see his mother again. Such a journey intimidates him, but he pushes that back into the endless recesses of his mind.
Strengths: Born with a heavy frame and natural muscle, Blue's greatest strength is, well, strength. He follows orders to a tee, determination sometimes getting the better of his rational mind. Avoiding the falling lumber of the forest all his life has taught him basic physics, and his father was sure to instill common sense into him at an early age. He is usually easygoing and no problem to get along with, and would throw himself under a carriage for another in an instant.
Weaknesses/Flaws: His frame and muscle may give him strength, but cuts his dexterity off at a low level, and his speed leaves much to be desired. He loses track of time with little to no effort, and is stubborn as a rock when he has his sights set on something.
Fears: Blue dreads the day he has enough bits to leave the sawmill, though he really does want to go to Canterlot. In his current situation a work accident is his greatest fear, and timberwolves are a constant threat to him and Seafoam. Although it's unlikely, he fears that his family's funds one day won't be enough to support the mill, or that it'll be torn down once the nearby woods are vacated.
Overall Persona:
Ocean Blue is quiet, usually preferring to pay attention to his work rather than a conversation. Years of close calls with saws and falling tree trunks have left him remarkably attentive to his surroundings, and he often overreacts with medical attention in mild situations. He is fiercely protective, particularly over his job and family, and unless threatened will not spark a problem with anypony else. He doesn't have many friends, nor does he see much more than his day-to-day job, though he still carts logs from him and his cousin's cottage to Hoofington every couple of days.
He is physically and mentally stubborn, difficult to move and difficult to sway in his decisions. Despite their nonstop recurrence, instances such as these do nothing to shake the life-long bond and trust that has crystallized between Blue and his cousin. Any time one of them is in a socially awkward situation, the other is always there to attempt to give advice, no less in vain.
Blue's father originally owned the mill that he and Seafoam live at now, though moved farther east when Blue came of age to run his own business. They don't really speak, as their father didn't bother with memories as much as teaching his son and niece how not to saw themselves in two. Blue's mother walked out of the lumberjacking business long before Blue got the sawmill, leaving to live in what their father disdainfully refers to as "Twinkletown". Deep inside, Blue wonders what Twinkletown-- er, Canterlot looks like, what his mother's done there, and what the Princess who brings his night sky to him is like.
