Henna listened to the words spoken by Ashti with quiet admiration. Loneliness was something no pony would want to be in a state of. It did not suit her, did not attract her. She was accustomed to family life, a happy life as she had already opened up to about with Ashti.
Her hooves waded in the water, tempted to dip into the large bath that was more like a swimming pool than anything. She had never exactly seen one before, which is the reason why she was still a little intimidated by it. If she related the same concept of swimming in a large bath to that of dancing and soaking in the rain with her siblings and her cousins and friends, it was more or less the same. She didn't need to feel embarrassment from this at all. Henna was not sure what she had been initially thinking and why it crossed her mind - perhaps just the setting made it appear all the more intimate and regal to her comfort level.
Amber eyes followed Finder heading back to the bar to fetch the tea, and Henna couldn't help smile more dearly at the young colt.
"I hope my words not trouble you. Truly… I only want to tell you how I feel. But you are like me, foreign in a new city. At least, with ponies you know and attached to. I enjoy speaking, too. Sharing life, stories, fun."
In a way, Henna did not understand what he meant by solitary adventurers and she would have questioned what he meant by that. But it dawned on her since Finder had mentioned him being a Relic-tracker, and an adventurer. It would have made sense, if he had worked with others who preferred solitary work to company. Not that she knew what adventurers did in the real world… she had heard stories and were often told they were just that. Stories. In truth, it appeared like a fairy tale to hear of such words coming from Ashti.
At least the other understood. That she wanted to dive into her work right away and not feel the pang of loneliness that often was pinching her in the chest, a reminder of her family and what she had to leave behind for this job. For this task that everyone was so depending on her.
She wanted to succeed.
She did not want to fail and be the laughing stock of the entire community.
The tea arrived and without hesitation, she pulled her hooves out of the water, wiped them down with the scarf that hung over her shoulders and thankfully picked up a cup with her magical aura. She was used to spicy masala chai, or a simple cup of loose leaf assam tea. Unsure of which to pick, she decided on the same as Ashti because the scent intrigued her and allowed the bag to steep in her cup.
"We are too taught respect. To respect elders, parents, sister, brother… neighbour, friend. Same as you, Salamalekh-sahib…" she took a sip of her drink and relaxed by the water, allowing the vapours to fill her lungs and wrap her entire body in a warm hug.
Henna listened once more, and couldn't agree more with his words. They hit home with her, leaving her a little breathless. Or perhaps it was the warm air that was making her feel that way.
In a way, she was thankful to feel more at ease now. This simple speaking to one another, opening up about her fears and what she wanted from her stay here seemed to have helped her nerves immensely.
"I understand…" She spoke simply, smiling kindly at the other. "You do not have to break your ideology for me. Knowing your spouse since young, and now calling her name after so long. I understand, it takes you time to used to casualness. I just, request some time for me to adjust… aur, to feel comfort and welcoming and wanting here." To feel she was needed, aside from her job as a Julaha and clothing designer. But to have her company needed and welcomed with open arms. It would take time, of course. She did not expect to get it right away. Thus was the reason she came here to speak with Ashti in the first place.
The next steps of what to do would be determined by him, of course. She remembered him mentioning that she might be working in the office some where close so he could see her progress. And there were others there, that she could befriend if she could.
A blush crept across her cheeks as she smiled more widely at Ashti.
"Oh, don't force yourself if you can not say my name… I like Anisa…" after a couple of more sips of her tea, she considered his offer to join in the water.
It was tempting to her. Did she really want to get wet at this hour of the night? It might just help her to clear her mind and rethink her situation here and get used to living here for the next couple of days and possibly weeks.
"…Well… okay. Water feels nice, will help me. Shukriya…" She smiled, letting all of her hooves dip into the water as she sat at the ledge, creating small waves and splashing a little water off to the side. Making sure to avoid splashing any pony else. She did this for a moment before she stood up and shook the water off, and using her magic she unwound the clothing wrapped around her body. Neatly folding it up, she allowed it to settle a little away from where any water could drench it.
She still wore her bangles, and it did not matter if those got wet. It would have mostly been a hassle to remove them and try to put them back on again.
Steadily, she tested the water once more before completely immersing herself into it, letting out a loud sigh of relief as the heat penetrated deep into her muscle tissue and seeped into her bones. It relaxed her joints immediately, and all the tension that she was feeling from before coming down here to meet with Ashti was now completely melting away.
Her eyes were closed as she allowed the sensation of the water lapping against her face, to ease neck deep into the water as her hair floated about her with the same tendril like movements as snakes.
Finally, she opened her eyes and looked up to the stars. She was awed and amazed at the appearance, stunned at how beautiful it looked.
"My… khoobsurat. Really, truly… beautiful. Not like home, under open skies but still… it will take me time to used to this palace. And to used to you, Salamalekh-sahib." Eventually, her gaze found it's way back to the ambassador and she smiled, a genuinely happy smile.
She was content. She was happy here, finally easing into a better place with her mind.
